Couple of missed chances made it close, but then an asskicking.

    Subs changed the game.

A mistake here and there, but a game were everyone played pretty damn well.

Klinsmann should be fired, he doesn't deserve to be in CONCACAF.

    Olympic demons erased.

Very enjoyable match. If we're looking for problems, they've reversed themselves from the first 15 months of the Klinsmann era. It's the defensive setup that need looking at, and the offense is fine. But these aren't really problems in the context of the competition the US will face in this tournament, even Mexico.

But the caliber of players selected is simply better than any other teams in this tournament, and Klinsmann is showing a golden substitute touch these days.

Clarence Goodson will make the all tournament team. That's 2 goals and 1 assist and several shutouts.

    Repost from the PbP, but:

This is how I've always wanted us to play against CONCACAF sides. *teer*

Whatever JK used with LD has payed off. Welcome back Donovan. Now if only you got another loan to Everton, all would be right with me ;)

    JK needs a raise.

It's great to see a US team that can play attacking soccer. Welcomed change from prior US regimes.

Safe to say Donovan's back. He was involved in all 5 goals. Scored one, assisted three, and on Corona's goal it was Donovan's run that unbalanced the defense before he dropped it to Wondo.

I'm loving the regularity of blowing out some nations. It's fantastic to see especially in our B squad. But why the heck did EJ dye his hair? Almost scary

That was a fun game to watch. We could've been up by more at the half so it was a bit nerve wracking until EJ came in, but overall we played really well. EJ made as big of an impact you can hope for from a sub. I like the speed with him, Landon and Shea in there when we are protecting a lead and the opponent has to push numbers forward.

Is Wondo done with being a starter? I can see EJ starting from here on out and giving Bruin a chance as a sub. Wondo's goals against Belize/Cuba are seemingly in the long past.

The amazing thing is that Portillo was a strong candidate for Man of the Match. With an ordinary goalkeeping performance, it could have been double digits.

Funny, I was just about to play we play very much like a Jogi Low side. We combine possession and direct attack very well.

    Complete and utter dominance.
As I said days ago no one should be shocked if we won by more than 2 goals. We were stronger, faster, more technical, more organized, deeper and just flat out at another level of soccer than those guys.

I don't want to hear anyone say "it is just EL Salvador" and all that crap.

This US team is for real and playing like bosses.

So nine game winning streak? Nice. I'm still not impressed with our back line. If the solution to said back line is just to score more goals, then we're doing that. Large scores might also bring more joe sixpacks to watch these matches.

JK is making good 2nd half choices IMHO. I really don't see Wondolowski as a starter, more like someone we would use in the last 20 minutes when we need a bundle of energy to score goals. Are we just using him as a sacrificial lamb? I loved EJ's goal.

    5-1 YAY

Easier to target his head when it stands out like that.
