I walked from the Day's Inn in 2005, and I'll be walking again this time too. It's a 10 minute walk if you get lost for 5 minutes along the way.
It's around a 10-15 minute drive I'd say, assuming regular traffic. I really wouldnt think it would be more than 12-15 bucks to be honest.
No clue. I've always driven to Columbus. My guess would be $ 20-30, but that's a complete 100% guess.
What time(s) are your flights? I am staying at the same Day's Inn. I get there at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, and I have a 7:00 a.m. flight Thursady morning and am going to get a cab to/from the airport and to/ from the stadium.
Well I have a bit of a pickle. I MIGHT have a ride from a friend of a friend so I wouldn't consider any concrete plans with me. But, my friend and I arrive at 12:25 on Wednesday if you want to wait around for an hour on the chance that you may be able to split the cab costs. Who knows, I might even be able to get you a free ride (no promises though). PM me if you want to talk more about it.
Anyone at the Red Roof? Is anyone else at the Red Roof? Its just up the street from Claddagh (at least Google Maps says so). I hope Google didn't lie about the location. I figured that close to the bar, there would be several of you there.....
Re: Anyone at the Red Roof? uhhh you got an address for that? the only red roof inn downtown i know is on the other side of downtown (you'll want to cab it). there are red roof inn OFFICES right next to the pub, but not a hotel (as far as we can tell).
Re: Anyone at the Red Roof? 111 East Nationwide Boulevard, Columbus, OH, United States, 43215 is the address, but I think Google screwed me now that I re-check it. It gave me the address for the offices! I see a cancellation in the red roof's future.
Re: Anyone at the Red Roof? That's a nice area and a very easy, cheap cab ride to Claddagh. That Red Roof looks (never been in) a lot nicer from the outside then any other RR I've seen. It may not be an easy walk to the bar (and certianly not the stadium) but it's a good location and if you have extra time you will enjoy the Arena District/Short North. To get to to either walk west down Nationwide and take a right on High for the Short North or Front (next block) for the Arena District. If you stay and it sucks - my bad.
Re: Anyone at the Red Roof? yeah, that is not near the pub. Clarmont Inn and Suites (on High St.) is the closest place (2 blocks) if you want to try that. The Double Tree would be walkable too.
Re: Anyone at the Red Roof? Red Roof = across the street from Drury, no? There are at least 200 fans at Drury, that corner will be hopping in 4 days!
Re: Anyone at the Red Roof? yeah, they are right next to each other. you guys should coordinate some shuttles or vans and what not
Re: Anyone at the Red Roof? me and my friends are at the holiday inn downtown and i know theres quite abit in there
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Capital Square for the Crew playoffs and the staff was very accommodating to soccer fans, even though the bell hop was pulling for Kansas City... You all should have a pleasant trip staying there plus you dont have to worry about parking. Also, they run a free shuttle to the brewery district and arena district so don't worry about that 1 mile walk. You should be able to get a 5 dollar shuttle ride from the bar to the game from there. Cheers.
awesome thanks for this info we will be using this free shuttle to and from and dont have to worry about a cab being drunk
i don't know which shuttle you are refering to, so just to make sure... that holiday inn has a shuttle to and from the airport (and probably the bar if you asked nicely), and then you know about the shuttle from the pub to the game and back.
