I know about Max Bretos as color commentator but what was the fellow's name who called the Fiorentina -Milan match today? He seems to have an almost Scottish accent but I can quite make it out. He does seem to pronounce the players names with an Italian accent so I guess that is a good thing.
It wasn't. FSC is using feed commentators for the Italian games (thankfully), so it wasn't Max Bretos or Ray Hudson (who works for GolTV). I didn't catch the name.
It more like 2 min off for a while. I missed the very begining of the match, but they fixed it about a minute after I started watching (I think it was around the 12th minute of the match - too long, and heck I don't know how you can have the audio be so far ahead of the video, but they did eventually fix it). From the matches I've seen so far I've been pleasently surprised by FSC's coverage. Still overall the network doesn't give it enough coverage. Watched the Monday Fox Soccer Report (Monday's are usually the best because Max is there that day) and in the Juve match they talked about the Juve player's altercation with the cameraman (I think it was a cameraman - don't remember specifically) and then cut away from the footage of the match before they got to the goal that won the match for Juve. The people in the studio had a laugh at the altercation, but neglected to cover the result of the match. Really annoyed me. Phone in show the next day didn't mention Italy once. OK, I get it. People at Fox really like the EPL, but I think they'd serve themselves better if they spent a bit more time covering the other leagues they broadcast (and heck I'd enjoy their programing more since I really have no interest in the EPL).

Makes sense to me. Italian soccer only on Fox. I don't see any problems. If want to hear an accent that needs work, you should hear mine. My sainted wife says I sound like a snooty French tourist.
Everyone has an accent. Even with Italians on Italian TV there are accents I'm not really criticizing the accent as much as the grammar. They seem to make horrid mistakes but yes I agree, at least they are trying.

The Lega Calcio has decided that this match will be moved to Saturday afternoon at 12:00pm EST. Which puts this match(probably the biggest match in Europe on that weekend) in direct conflict with FSC's EPL coverage(Birmingham/ManU). Do you think there is any chance they'd bump a ManU match for Roma/Inter? I won't hold my breath
