That's been talked about, but as far as I can tell, it's full speed ahead for SuperLiga 2010: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/soundersfcblog/2011967829_the_2010_superliga_schedule_ha.html
Curiosity - how are they getting to LA? I saw somewhere they had an 8 hour bus ride to Minnesota. Understandable given the financial issues, but if they took the train/bus to LA they had to have left days ago. But if they flew that is a pretty big chunk of change on what I'm assuming their budget is. At least for Puerto Rico they could buy with some significant advance notice, hopefully cutting the cost. Big opportunity to get a win that would stoke some interest back home. Hope they pull it off.
Game night! We're playing very well right now and if nothing else we should be able to compete for 90 solid minutes against the Galaxy. That said the Galaxy will field a weaker side and Arena is a smug bitch so let's take it to them! Also speaking of the SuperLiga I can't believe they can still find teams from Mexico to participate in that farce.
The first vision I had in my head after reading this was the movie the Natural with the team taking the train from game to game. ACSTL whistle stop tour. That will keep the travel costs down, heck you could sleep on the train and limit the time needed for a hotel/motel.
I just got an email back from Godat. The team flew to LA and the USSF gave them $8K for travel expenses.
Ummm...is MLS MatchCenter accurate? Because if it is... Saunders; dos Santos, Ribeiro, De La Garza, Jordan; Lewis, Kirovski, Mathis, Klein; Gordon, Bowen. ...that's not a very weak lineup at all. Then again, they still show ACSTL playing a 4-5-1, and I thought they were going back to the 4-4-2...
I'm trying to follow it on my iPod. At a la quinta in in georgia. I'm ready to rock out with my boys on the 3rd!!
probably a good thing you missed last game Liz. We were all a mess. I think half of us got blackout drunk.
lol I need to spell check better before I hit enter on that live chat on the galaxy site.. "Whitey herzon 2.0" blah Herzog Herzog!
they didn't post my comment. When the guy asked what show Landon was going to be on tonight, I posted that he was going on Maury for a Who's the Daddy? episode. I guess they didn't think it was funny.
