This is actually damn good advice. I usually leave Fairfax at 4:00 and it takes me about 45 minutes. When I used to get off at 5:00 it would take me over an hour on a good day.

And that's from the Nutley Street exit off 66! (Vienna Station)

Thanks for the High Sign, Dobey!!

Someone mentioned the Flux Capacitor, well things have been a little tight
lately so Doc had to Pawn the DeLorean.

This is for you ERIK S. :

My Friend! Psychotic Behavior like waving your "Battle Standard"
in front of fervent fans fueled with copious amounts of Free flowing
suds and Multitudinous amounts of Excellent Grindage is not the best
consideration to exercise. DC fans are gentle people with a tad bit
of Tabasco thrown on them for flair. Do you wish to find your personal
"Nirvana"? Were you blindly led to believe by exercising your "Bravado"
you would be rewarded with a stadium full of Virgin Southern Belles,
reeking from the scent of Mint Juleps and Cheap perfume?
Friend, there is nothing the matter with waving your Banner, just do it
in good taste, and not as an insult. The DC United Fans, the most fervent
supporters in the MLS, are a stoked group of individuals proud of their
team. Exercise good sportsmanship, tact, and most of all common sense.

Don't track "Mud on Our Carpet", come enjoy the game, have a good time.

Profit Deal? Jumpin' Jesus with Steel Crutch! I Wish!
I get scraped every time I cross the bridge to come
into DC. They harp and bitch about Taxation without Representation..... Damn! The DCU fans get raped
every time they drive to a Game. I remember
[ Depression Story] when I used to come
here to watch The Washington DC NASL Team, the
    Diplomats, parking was Free!!!
Now that the city has to pay for a new Baseball Park,
they have to figure out ways to scrape us. I think DC
ought to do like Maryland did for Camden Yards and
the Ravens Stadium sell Lottery Tickets.
They made all kinds of money!! Oh well progress
sucks us dry. Somebody slap me and wake this ole bugger
up my walker is double parked. Getting around with a Boot
on your walker don't make for many speed records.

The team is not running it. It is the city. All parking and concessions go to them as they own the stadium. Contribute as much or as little as you like.

At this point it will be interesting to see what kind of lineup we can field.

    You'll find out Wednesday......;)

p.s. The author of the ESPN article has no clue about Uniteds' motivation for the USOC. At leats we weren't called "the United". :D

I disavow any knowledge of even knowing what you are talking about ;)
I guess I should roll it up for the week

Mikey, I'm fairly certain that Lot 3 will be open just fine for people driving - I think - it is the lot right in front of the stadium on East Capital, across the street from Lot 4 (where you can park your VW for free if you're early), but I'm not on that side of the stadium much.
If it is, you'll be fine (if not hot) tailgating over there.

Oh, and Mikey - the Eagles like you too :)
But quite frankly, since both of us do like you, the Regiment members really should just kick your ass the whole bus ride up :)

yeah United told us we could tailgate their. The Battery also paid for our entire front office (and there families i think) to fly up so they have the DC FO on speed dail if we have any troubles. My main concern was with a majority of the people driving or flying up, I was hoping they could just "drive to Lot 3" and set up next to us. I'm sure however it works out well have a good time.

Honestly I was hoping you guys would be able to field a full line up. I dont want any excuses when we win :D

Mikey, they're also flying the player's wives and girlfriends too. There are at least 3 USAir flights coming out of Charleston filled with Battery supporters, plus 2 busloads coming with you.

I talked briefly to Emilio on Sunday. He said he'd probably play on Wednesday. He said it wasn't a groin but an abductor muscle.

We can win without him, but it will be nice if he can play.

What section is the Battery group in?

I know there is an away fan section in the nosebleed area, but considering that it is a Cup final, I would not mind seeing their group placed on the East side of RFK next to the Volkswagen barn (sections 127-128). I think it would create a lively atmosphere.

ps-I think both the Screaming Eagles and La Barra Brava would be far enough away that we would not have any problems (sections 132-139).
