You cant get a feel for a player from highlights though. They are the best points, but so much more happens in a game.. I have seen highlights of him, but I really don't feel like I have a good feel for the kind of player he is. Im not knocking the pick at all, I think its a good one. I was hoping he would drop to us at some point, Albright is a quality pick and really underrated, if he can keep his fitness, which I dont think is an issue even as of now, then he's one of the best right-backs in MLS. Great pick.
I was waiting on that I haven't heard from Appoo but we were almost certain who we were taking anyway. So with the 7th pick in the 6th round, SC SeaPoo selects: Chad Barrett position: Forward height: 5-11 weight: 180 Birthdate: April 30, 1985 Hometown: Beaverton, OR The talent pool at forward is decreasing with every round that goes by. We're hoping that Barrett can be our Wayne Rooney. He had 8 goals and 2 assists last season, is currently with the U-23's, so hopefully he will have a good year with the Fire and the national team.
Team Elninho/giffenbone selects forward Nate Jaqua of the Houston Dynamo. With Joseph Ngwenya reportedly headed for Austria, Jaqua is in all likelihood going to be a key component of the Dynamo attack.
I dont know if I should thank you two guys for your picks, or kick them. I was eyeing both players, but was somewhat unsettled by both players.
We also considered Jaqua, I hoped he might drop to the next round but wasn't all that confident that he would, and I was right unfortunately. If you're still in the hunt for forwards like Appoo and I are, it's a dog-fight right now for the best talent.
