    My ticket is punched for the last week of this year and going into the new year. Should be an excellent atmosphere.

    What's worth seeing in Uruguay? I'm planning to travel through SA for about 4 months next year. Start off in Lima and work down through the Inca trail, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca - all the touristy stuff. Down to Chile then up through Argentina. Should see lots of soccer games aswell.

    Thoughts on Paraguay aswell would be appreciated.

    paraguay, you are better skipping.

    uruguay is nice and has some interesting places. montevideo is kind of a slightly more relaxed (and cheaper) buenos aires. there are resort towns along the coast that are quite nice.

    i'm not sure how things are now with the economic problems in argentina, but they were both great places to visit.
