GersMan, thanks for this as always, its always a great thread to read. I know he had a bad year with injuries and all, but no Manny Lagos anywhere? Wow, from the National Team to nowhere in record time. Forgive me if I missed the debate in previous months. I was about to say something about Ben Olsen being rated so highly, then I went back and read your list and I find I don't disagree as much as I thought I did. Go Quakes Tony
Well, we should care, because you know what? It says here he starts, and stars, on the U17s....soon...very soon.
Hartman is a better keeper than Cannon (right now) and Chung should be about 10 places higher. You listed Greg Vanney twice (#11 & 14) and he can't even get a game!!! Lalas should be above Agoos, no question. Agoos had a miserable end of the year and Lalas just seems to be getting stronger. Cobi is playing the soccer of his life and should probably be in the top 3 of his category. Not a chance he's below Davis, Martino, Convey, some others. Daniel Hernandez should be a couple of spots higher too. In great form as of this moment. There are some others but it's a great list and I'll let others have a say!!
DOH - re Greg Vanney. One day I'll get this list without a goof, maybe. I did move Lalas up quite a bit from last time, and I agree his form has been solid. I need to remove Vanney from 14, move everyone up one spot, and then add a #30. Brian Dunseth OK for #30? Can someone with super moderator powers make this change? Please?
According to mls confidential, Franchino is going to be called up for the game with El Salvador. You might want to add him somewhere toward the bottom.
unofficially SIX OF THE REVS FOR USA? An unofficial, preliminary list of U.S. players for the Nov. 17 friendly against El Salvador includes six from New England. The obvious choice of forward Taylor Twellman is supplemented by Steve Ralston, Adin Brown, Joey Franchino, Leo Cullen and Daniel Hernandez. Ralston has earned seven caps (1997-2000). Franchino played 13 minutes in a friendly against Mexico in October, 2000. Cullen played against Chile and Jamaica in 1999.Players will begin training for the match Nov. 11. as posted by The Magpie on the revs board
How do you rate Jordan Stone above Chad Dearing? Chad started most of the year and had one of his best years yet. Jordan Stone played very limited minutes from the bench.
Need to include Marcus Hahnemann as a keeper. Anyone who keeps posting shutouts in D1 (and had a solid MLS career) deserves to be in the top 10.

Garcia? Wondering why Nick Garcia isn't included in this list? In the LA v Wiz playoff game, Nick was by far better than Lalas. I guess I'm just wondering what the general feeling on Nick is? Does he have the potential to be a Nat?
Great stuff (as always). One small suggestion I've been meaning to make since the first list came out... since the rest of the list moves from defense to offense, how about listing "Central, Holding and Defensive Midfielders" before "Attacking (5-hole) Midfielders and Wingers" ?
Keller should be ahead of Freidel. http://www.planetfootball.com/optamizer/totw.asp?PID=3&CPID=8&SID=3&LID=317&article=110461
Again I will renew my campaign against Ramiro Corrales. Now that you have him in the right place in terms of position, you need to get him in the right place in terms of ranking. Above Daniel Hernandez? What are you smoking? No, as we discussed earlier, he is not in the top 15 at any position, which is why he's never been able to hold a starting job at any position during his now seven year MLS career.
i sure am glad someone else took the time to make this list, thanks friend. i will just suggest that mark chung move up considerably. wasn't he nominated for league mvp? i know he retired from the yanks, maybe that's why he's low. also, about chivas martinez, is he fully american? and if so you think burce will give him a game?
