New problem for me. Now search isn't working correctly. I usually search by user name and enter mine to follow up on threads I've written on. Now the search is missing some of them. It is reporting back about half of the threads I've written to in the last day or so. Any ideas of what is wrong?
Also, if you go to any forum, you usually see this icon next to recently updated posts, and lets you jump directly to the first new post.
search is not functioning at this time. rebuilding our search index is a resource hog so we are waiting until we have all speed issues resolved.
oooh with everyone talking about new posts... i thought it was something you click to create a new post... not something to see all new posts as for this image thingy to get to new posts in a thread... it's pure blasphemy and i won't accept it... i will continue doing it the old fashioned way because i'm stubborn, i'm unwilling to change and jesus hates it
Just FYI. The 'My Bigsoccer' function hasn't been working for me over the last day and half. I use Firefox. The ..../usercp.php does though.
Don't know if this has been covered: When I tried to log in from the home page (I entered my username and password) I was given the message "POST requests from foreign hosts are not allowed." I went to /forum and logged in and it worked just fine. Two things that might matter: 1. I am on a Dutch server. 2. This is the first time I've seen the DNS resolve the domain name and not just give me the IP.
This may or may not be a bug, but it smells like one: I got some neg rep from someone with 2 green nipples. Obviously, they couldn't affect my standing. The rep dot from them that appears on my rep list is red. Because it didn't affect me, shouldn't that dot have been gray?
I cant seem to log out. It says all cookies cleared but if I return to forum it still recognizes me. I tried shutting down afterwards and then reentering BS but it still recognizes me. Since their are multiple users on this computer I really would like to be assured of logging out so I dont wonder if someone posts under my name.
all right. more probs. half of the time i click on mybigsoccer, it cuts to this weird page and then switches to page not displayed, and it won't let me backspace to get out, and i have to re-log in. and it only does this after i've already been in there once. anything more than that, and it craps out on me.
Because the DNS changed IP, you may have to clear your bigsoccer cookies to solve this problem. Once you do, you'll be fine.
The weird part about my situation is that I couldn't log on from the front page, but could when I replied to a post. But, I have cleared cookies (usually do about every other day) and have since been fine. Oh yeah...the other day I had to block a cookie from something like 12.18.200.126. Don't remember exactly what it was, and I only had to block it once, but just thought I'd bring it to your attention.
Ok...not the "my" link is working for me, but now the "my" page istself is displayed really strangely, almost like it's a text-only version of the page. It still displays all my thread and forum subscriptions and whatnot, but it does it against a white background without any of the colors of graphics or anything. That, and when i click on any link on the user CP page, it just seems to re-load the user CP page. strange.
The "my" link is going to: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/usercp.php/ with the trailing slash. If you remove the trailing slash and reload, the page comes up correctly. Can we get "my" to redirect to: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/usercp.php instead of: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/usercp.php/ ? -- Bill
Okay. this is getting really frustrating. Mine's doing the same thing.won't let me log on to the home page, but will if i reply to a post. then of course if i click the sidebar mybigsoccer, it takes me to that text only page and won't reload even if i take away the slash.. and yes, i've cleared my cookies, and it still doesn't work. i'm ready to scream!
Same with me, no email notification at the moment. :-( And in case this helps: - living and surfing in Berlin, Germany - ISP at home T-Online - ISP at university...don't know
