For the last few weeks, browsing and posting on BS has been extremely aggravating, with long page loads, and frequent "Unresponsive Scripts", sometimes resulting in Firefox crashing.

    I'm using a Mac, OS-X 10.3.9, so I can't upgrade to Firefox 3.0

Is there possibly anyway to fix this on my end?

Have you tried using an ad blocking plugin like AdBlock Plus or a proxy like Privoxy? Assuming that you are able to identify the URLs of the offending scripts, you could just block them the same way you would with ad images.

    http://www.privoxy.org/

An easier way to do it would be to disable JavaScript in Firefox, but I'm not sure how that might affect your overall browsing experience.

We've been tracking them down and slowly eliminating them. Premium membership gets rid of most of them too.
