Now that it's settled and some time had passed, what do you think of the name? At first, I hated it now I'm cool with it. It's an interesting name and I am liking it more and more.
The only thing I like about that crest is the shape. It's a shield. The colors are ugly, the soccer ball is cheesy and the crown is retarded. There's nothing royal about Utah, and there's nothing royal about real. The whole thing is retarded until they actually get a deal going with Real Madrid (or is that ReAL Madrid?)
I like the shield, the color, and pretty much everything else. However, the name schould have been "Royal Salt Lake", if they actually wanted to mean "Royal". "Real" just make me feel that they wanted to copy the name of Real Madrid, one of the popular clubs in Europe.

It sucked when they announced it and it sucks now. It just doesn't sound right, it sounds stupid and weird. I think it's good that they're trying to get rid of some of the cheesy names in MLS but Real Salt Lake just sounds weird. Everything else abuot Salt Lake is cool, the name's the only thing that needs to go.
Not to sound like some overly patriotic American, but Real Salt Lake sounds foreign. In the US we are trying to get rid of the image that soccer is a foreign sport. This name does not help. I'm cool with a Chivas USA team because it would only draw more interest in the MLS, but Real Salt Lake is unnecessary in my opinion.
I'd have to agree with pc4th. I feel alittle bit bad for DC and Chicago fans since they have had the best logos in MLS and then all of a sudden RSL and Chivas come around and take over the top spots. I do believe though, since MLS has a new standard in logo quality, New England, Columbus, and Los Angeles need to go back to the drawing board and come up with some enhancements quick.
Sadly, I agree that the Crew need a little bit of an update to their crest. I've always liked the DCU crest, and the Chicago Fire shield. The RSL crest is great. I have a distinct feeling that RSL is going to be the nickname for the team. It just rolls off the tongue "arr-ess-ell".
i agree that new england needs a new logo but at least la galaxy and the crew have a shape that can be used as a badge. the ones i would like to see remade are san jose, colorado, and the wizards. i think they should have more of a badge, something with a shape and no name on it. i do think that rsl has an amazing badge. the soccer ball looks a lil cheesy but it is said to made like that to resemble a jewel in the middle. chivas' logo is nice too!
Great logo, (the shield) the spelling of the name with the crooked "e" is terrible. Colors ok. name: great for Spain, horrendous for the USA
The name is the worst and I really don't care about a crest.. All the worst to a posing Real Salt Lake.
How is this not a badge? As for soccer balls, what's wrong with that? Many Euro (esp. EPL) teams have them so why can't MLS?
