    Hey FCD fans

I wanted to post this here 'cause the next game involves FCD.

I started to work on this (UMLSCC) last fall just because it seemed like a fun idea. I now have a blog up for it, UMLSCC. It's also in my signature.

What I did was take the first winner of the first ever MLS game, San Jose defeating DC United. After that San Jose was the Unofficial Club Champion. I have ignored Overtime, Shootouts, Playoffs and USOC games involving MLS teams. A 90 minute draw means a team retains the title.

Looking at the site you will see that 308 games have been played and the current Champion is Kansas City. KC is UMLSCC for the 7th time, which is actually tied for the fewest title reigns (Not counting RSL/Chivas who are at 0). The 309th meeting is at FC Dallas. FCD has been champion 9 times.

I'll be working on getting more "stats" out there. There are a few on the latest entry.

    Please leave me some comments.

I will most likely be putting a post up on the MLS N&A.

I've seen this done for the Internationals. If I recall Scotland is the winningest champion of all time.

Which is an indication of how valid this measure is.

Metros are the king of MLS. That is another validation!

it simply treats the entire history of the game as a single win tournament. Beat the champ and you are champ. Almost makes it like boxing.

I don't think it's meant to be valid, just something interesting to think about.

And it does succeed. I wish I could find the site you were talking about that showed the champion national team of the world. It had some interesting stats on it.

EDIT - I don't think it's up-to-date actually... they dont have the result for Zimbabwe-Rwanda from last years WCQ game.

Added a story about games played on Sundays in this format...

And someone made comment about the metros earlier... well...when I relooked at the data, they are actually 14 time "champs" ha ha

My only problem is that it gives the first game ever played undue importance. If the second league game is used, by random choice, the numbers would change drastically. It's just a random measure. Might as well roll a pair of dice and log the results and call that "interesting".

Don't hate because the gamer geeks help pay my bills and because of my Christmas bonus I was able to buy my FCD season ticket. :)

The more they order. The more I've got to get it shipped out. LOL
