Based on the amount of time Pulisic has gotten at CF at Chelsea lately (not that it's been super productive, but still), and Ferreira playing at LW against Bosnia, I wonder if Ferreira and Pulisic will swap roles throughout the game.
Weak bench. Weak passing center midfield. But who cares. El salvador the size of metro Dallas? We can't beat them with our 3rd team then we deserve to miss everything.
I still don't rate Ferreria as much as Gregg does, but he did show some flashes I really liked in the Mexico game. I'm interested in seeing how he does
I got the entire lineup correct -- even down to Richards and Zimmerman -- except for Jesus Ferreira over Ricardo Pepi. Very interesting. I have zero complaints about this lineup. The guys have to get this done. Period. No excuses.
Of course they will switch from time to time and the wings will switch sides at times. Pulisic has been around so many good to great players that he has learned the advantages of presented varied looks to the defense. Weah also has been exposed to the same kind of things. We only need to really worry about our CF being flexible enough to make judicious switches and still maintaining a high position most of the time. He has a tendency to drift back in the formation and that will not be helpful to the USMNT.
31 degrees up there and chances of snow. We shoulda be able to squash Salvies. I predict at least 2:0.
pepi hasnt scored since what october? im fine with him on the bench but havent seen much from ferreira hopefully this cold isnt an issue otherwise hoping for an early blowout finsihing this off early will be massive for games 2 and 3 this isnt the game to wait for the 80th minute
Ok, two big surprises with the lineup against El Salvador. First, Ferreira over Pepi, and second, Rchards/Zimmerman instead of Miles. I wonder what's behind that. Covid? Player rotation? Something else? I haven't yet seen the full roster with the bench, only the XI.
Club Breakdown of El Salvador's XI: 7 Domestic players, 1 from Guatemala, 2 from MLS, and 1 from The Eredivise Some notes: 6 guys who started in the scoreless draw in San Salvador Roldan and Ceren will be familiar to MLS fans. Roldan is captaining The Eredivise guy has yet to actually make his league debut for Vittese. He's a 20 year old who was born in The Netherlands but just recently committed to El Salvador. He has appeared in a cup match
I'm wondering if he's going to play like a false 9 or if he's going to play it the way that we've played that same formation before. By the way, where did you find our full gameday roster with bench? I haven't seen anything more than the XI.
