I know this has been talked about elsewhere, but I figured I'd post it here now that it seems to be official. Looks like we've got a new third keeper.

Hopefully this works out better than the last time we signed a player with a beer named after him...

Well now. I was going to make some angry point about spending more money on yet another goalkeeper for SAF to abuse instead of investing in midfielders, but this thread has taken the fire out of me. Enjoying the hot pics a great deal, and props on keeping it lighthearted. :p

well, to be fair we spent 1M on him and we spent 2M on VDS... exactly what kind of midfielder were we going to pick up for 3M who can also play GK while playing CM (because I dont think Timmy's ready to start)

Timmy ain't a worldbeater, true, but with our defense we only need a competent one. Defense was not the problem last season, scoring was. And of course 3M is not nearly enough for a world class mid, or even 20% or one, but it's still 3M. If nothing else, it could have paid 3M of Glazer's interest. (Sigh)

If this guy can play in five years then it will look like money well spent. If he can't play then it's only £1MM. I just agree with others in hoping that this was somebody that they had been tracking. But what are the odds that a lower division player was overlooked by everybody until he was 22?

Why do I get the feeling that if he is a quality keeper, SAF will love him until he actually becomes the starter, then start looking for reasons to run him off?
