Remember all they need is one to screw this all up.

I'm not watching so I am dying here waiting for the final.

    Please, please 3-0.

    Joao Moutinho great leadership.

Ricardo Vaz Te did not score but worked really hard.

Helder Barbosa is awesome and very fast.

Yannick D"jalo played really well also.

Couceiro needs to re-think this roster if he wants to win at the EURO and qualify for the Olympics. The roster is made up of players born in '84, '85, and '86. With 2 notable exceptions (Hugo Almeida & Ronaldo), '84 and '85 are two of our weakest classes for sometime. Most of them are either not getting playing time and/or not progressing. For example, Organista was let go by Porto 2 years ago and he's playing for a 2nd/3rd division Spanish side. What's he doing starting for the U21 team?

On the positive side, '86 is looking like a bumper crop right now. These are most of the guys who won the U17 Euros 3 years ago in Viseu. Moutinho, Fernandes, & Nani have already been capped by Scolari, too. After those 3 guys, you have Veloso, Yannick Djalo, Machado, Vaz Te, Cicero and Vierinha. Couceiro needs to build the team around these guys.

Holy shit - I totally forgot about this match! They won 3-0! Amazing turnaround! I can't believe it! Holy crap, I love exclamation marks!

    :D

In all seriousness, it was great to see that the kids were able to turn this around. After the group stages, it would have been a shame to not see the squad go to the championships next spring. Good for the sub 21! Well done, lads! Again, love the exclamation mark!

Does anybody have this game recorded because I'd love to see it. I'm sure this will be ignored, as they always are. It seems like everyone with RTPi doesn't own a vcr or dvd recorder so the rest of us are screwed.

Seriously, anybody here tape Portugal NT games because I would buy them all.

I just finished watching this spectacular game.
What great maturity, and composure these fine young adults showed today. Not only do they have great ability, but today they showed great professionalism.

Moutinho is in a class by himself. Yannick, and Machado also stood out.
One thing we need to praise is the work of our defense. Amoreirinha, and of course Veloso did their job.

Great win for these kids, and again we'll be palying in a great tournament come next August.

I think Machado could become a very good option to replace Costinha.

Paulo Machado is more offensive player and has better overall skills than Costinha. You shouldn't really be comparing these 2 players. If anything, Paulo Machado and Maniche are more comparable IMO.

He's very good defensively, IMO. He just knows how to get up and down the pitch well, that's all. He's a true DMC, IMO. He doesn't roam as much as Maniche.

You see P. Machaco on the offensive end much more than Costinha, i.e. you only see Costinha up front on set pieces (corners and free kicks looking for his headers) meanwhile P. Machado looks for a shot often including taking some free kicks etc... Yes, he is good defensively, but so is Maniche and that is why they have been so compatible at Porto, on the NT and perhaps hopefully now with Atl. Madrid.
