Which team has played the ugliest-looking football/soccer that you have seen or read about?

    I'd say Argentina 1990.

Norway 94 was the best, I mean the best team at playing a brand of soccer where even their coach said that they were the best team in the world without the ball. A pity that they had some very good players though,

Argentina '66 - not the game against England but their general thuggery in the first round, in particular against West Germany.
Brasil '74 - came to Europe determined not to be kicked around as they had been in '66 and did a lot of kicking themselves, particularly against Holland.
    Uruguay '86 - brutal.
    Argentina '90 - 'nuff said.
    Norway '94 - horrid football.

I was about to suggest any German Women's WC team...until I actually read the post.

    Anyway...

    Violent conduct:

    Argentina '66
Uruguay '86 (Batista sent off in 1st minute v SCO)
    Argentina '90

    Dreadful soccer:

    Norway '94
    Saudi Arabia '02
    USA '98

We just play a different kind of soccer, it doesn't make it "bad" or "ugly". But whatever, if you don't like it, you're just missing out. Norwegian football is great. :D

Ireland? Wait...So drawing with the African champions 1-1 drawing with eventual WC finalists 1-1, and then trouncing lowloy Saudi Arabia 3-0 in the group stage is ugly? Then losing on penalties to Spain is ugly!? You're Portuguese, you need to learn some self humility my friend. You guys didn't even make it out of the group stage, but yet you conjure up the thoughts of a team who played with such passion, and heart that it almost brought you to tears to watch them walk off that field after losing to Spain played ugly? Shame Shame on you.

I completely agree with you on this one. If only jokstein could see this, then he will think I'm not the only one.

That's right. Ireland played pretty damn well, especially
against Spain. If not for Puyol I think Duff & co. would have
    turned that game.

It certainly wasn't dreadful soccer, in any case.

Who said I was Portugese? :)

Sure Ireland put up a fight, but it was an ugly brawl more than "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee".Since they didn't have Keane to set up the play properly, they resorted to many long balls and like alot of Northern European teams e.g Sweden, Norway,Scotland, they don't have great technique or much flair.

Sorry, but I didn't enjoy watching them.

ehh i kinda agree with you SS2006

in USA, we didnt do that bad, we got a tie against Bolivia 0 to 0, and we tied spain 2 to 2, and against Germany we lost 3 to 2, and after the game the Germans even admitted if we played them for just 10 more minutes, we woulda tied or beaten them
but other than that i agree with you

South Korea's worst was in Switzerland '54 but hey that was our first year

If Greece makes it I bet they'll be real ugly. I bet Argentina will be too because of how the last WC turned up for them.
