No doubt about it: i was just wondering about the level of their women's football National Teams (although I must admit I at least know of one of their senior players, Vlada Kubassova, who just conquered promotion from Serie B to Serie A in Italy with Como Women).
Euro U19 Good start for the french team against Czech republiq 3-0 It seems there is no broadcast for the championship

My friends in France watched it online and also on tv. Some important stuff from UEFA about getting more games played and more competitive ones. In the previous format, lower ranked teams would play three games and be out of the tournament, sometimes with heavy defeats too. A new format to benefit everyone Nations were split into two tiered Leagues, like in the UEFA Nations League, and they compete for promotion and relegation in the autumn and spring, with the League A group winners in round 2 reaching the finals. This guarantees teams, including the host nation who also take part, five or six competitive matches per season against similarly ranked sides and is aimed at encouraging young women to keep playing the game. “The format change was part of our Time For Action women’s football strategy,” Kessler adds. “It shows that UEFA is taking care of more than just the very top level. Investment is going into getting more girls to play, but also in providing them with a pathway through our youth competitions to then make it as a professional. “This is the first time for this Nations League-style system in our youth competitions, which allows for more matches for all and also more competitive matches. It’s hoped that this can help give young players the experience they might have missed out on in the past two years.”
Spain have qualified for the semi-finals. The Czech Republic and Germany are out. In group A France need a point to qualify, in Group B, we could end up with three teams with six points.
Why is Germany out? If Germany beats England by 3 goals and Sweden beats Norway they should be in the semi-final. England vs Norway 4:1 Norway vs Germany 2:1
Yes, you are right, I forgot the 9-3-3-3 points scenario. Spain and France are through to the semi-finals after their 1-1 draw.
Italy's win by 4-0 vs Czech Republic was made useless. But Nicole Arcangeli is leading the scorer-rankings of the tournament with 5 goals.
German players celebrate 3:0 like they have reached semi-final. It seems that they only were informed about the Norwegian win after the game was over. I don`t know how England could beat Norway. 0:5 or 0:6 would have been a more adequate result today.
Weird outcome indeed. Norway group winners with minus in goal difference. But the scoreline in that first Eng-Nor game did not reflect how the game was at all. Norway were the better team in the first half, then suddenly collapsed in the heat in the second half. The performances can swing a lot at youth level. A few new players introduced and some tactical adjustments can change a lot. The players can learn from one game to another.
Few weeks ago i talked about an OL left forward, Nesrine Bahlouli (french U19 2022 champion). In this tournament, 1 assist against Czech Republik, 2 against Italy, and the goal against Spain to advance in semi-final. I keep an eye on her, she still must progress a lot to play one day in the first OL team. against Italy against Spain Hope the coach Ringlier will start Bahlouli, Benyahia and Ribadeira (PFC) against Norway. Hope also seeing some of these 3 joining the others good U19 directly selected for the U20WC next august. It would have been nice to see them playing in this euro, the U20 coach likely wanted to avoid possible injuries (or too much tiring)...
First finalist ; Spain. won against Sweden 1-0 Now the match between France and Norway. And once again the french coach didn't start the 3 best players together
Norway v France statistics Attacking Goals 1-0 Attempt 4-9 On target 0-2 A poor game from both side attacking wise, Norway winners with no shot on target.
