Barca were second behind Atheltic Bilbao or Atletico de Madrid for four of the past six years.

The last 2 years or so with the signings the point system gap widened.

Good time to give some minutes to the younger players with little to no experience eh?

Juventus will play their first match vs Servette, while enjoying the Chelsea-Wolfsburg clash...:whistling: After that, Wolsfburg will be free to decide how to approach the rest of the competion. :giggle:

Juventus would enjoy watching Chelsea-Wolfsburg because they don`t know this quality of football from Serie A but after their defeat in Geneva they might not be in the best mood.

10' Malard scores for Lyon after good pressure and then assist from vd Donk.

Hacken had one nice chance early on but since then is all Lyon. Still the hosts look the side that can score a goal if given the chance as Lyon defense isn't exactly iron.

Hoffenheim also 1 up but should've been at least 3 already;)

I really counted that Koge will mobilize for this match a bit more to put a fight...:(

Hacken on the other hand doesn't play half bad but they miss too many quality players as opposed to Lyon to be real threat.

Seems like Häcken are going into another existential crisis. A number of their best players, Stina Blackstenius, Julia Zigiotti-Olme and Emma Kullberg have turned down contract offers to stay at the club over more than three matchdays in this CL season. That doesn't bode well. Coach Mats Gren has no contract extension either.

Total dominance by Barcelona so far, Arsenal can 't string three passes together..

I take Houston Dash over Arsenal if they can’t play the way they suppose to against Barcelona.

Arsenal set themselves to play passing game - like Barcelona - which is working in the FA WSL because there is almost no competition from other league teams playing the same kind of football. But when confronted by much more developed and well structured passing team like Barcelona - who are playing against this kind of football day by day in their league, some Arsenal players individual shortcomings are starting to show.

Miedema is cut from passes but she also looks out of sorts lately. Little was quickly pacified, Walti is constantly pressed - so she can't direct, while Maritz come really short on skill.

    EDIT.
FA WSL clubs aren't big on 3v3 or 5v5 play in heavily congested area, you can rarely see it solved by teams during the games - and that's a serious problem for English WoSo imo.

Villa tiring/Barcelona cruising, or are there some question marks about Arsenal playing better for a second match in a row without Miedema and Mead on the pitch?

Edit: I must say Heath's looked good in both sub appearances though. Is she seriously pushing for a start next match?

When did Arsenal last play? They haven't had much rest--but, yea, they've been totally embarrassed by Barca. I can't believe I rearranged my schedule today to watch that. I stopped watching at the half. Miedema pretty much never touched the ball in the first half. The Arsenal midfield was over-run and terrible. Barca plays like they've got 12 players to your 11: they are genuis at overloading areas and everyone knowing/spotting the openings, and they overload defensively as well: you get the ball and there are 3 Barca players pushing you around--and they do push/foul a lot. I figured Arsenal would at least play a bit better than ManCity and Chelsea did against Barca. Wrong! They've been worse.

If you are struggling to get the ball out of your half, why the hell would you back-pass constantly, as Arsenal did in the first half? Hoof the ball ahead and try to win it back. Also not sure why Eidevall didn' start Iwabuchi instead of Maanum, who was completely overmatched--but then so was everybody wearing whatever that Arsenal away color is. Yellow?

I do think Arsenal may have got hosed on a couple of offsides calls in the 1st half. Miedema was called offside but it looked to me like she was on--and then Barca scored on a play in which Oshoala looked a half step offside but not called. I guess you can't expect to get close calls when you're getting bossed.

Barcelona does get away with a LOT of pushing.

A lipreader might have a go at that [emoji1]. Almost looked like he, the Arsenal coach, called her a twat behind her back after getting that yellow card.

Should have entered a contest on Instagram predicting the Benfica - Bayern match I see. Could see a draw happening but then again not this 0-0
