It’s the same shit every time, because we never actually implement any changes just sweep them under the rug
hahahaha is anyone actually surprised? This entire game went EXACTLY as the most pessimistic of Bosnian's would have predicted. Cipetic getting the start after being one of the worst players to ever put on a NT jersey, of course he makes the terrible defensive error to give up the goal. And Visca.. lol. I texted my brother before extra time started that he was gonna shank his penalty, and sure enough. Unbelievable.. he has nothing, I can't believe continues to be a featured player. No finishing touch, no ability to do anything but straight line runs with the ball, etc
What I don't understand is why the coach – having played Italy off the park with a 4-2-3-1 formation – decides to switch to a 4-3-3 against Poland, play like garbage, and then KEEP the 4-3-3?! Also: 1. Benching Gojak, who was the best player against Italy and the key to the success of the 4-2-3-1. 2. Taking Krunic off, and leaving Visca on. 3. Not using Djuric off the bench. What's he there for if not a situation like this?
To be fair to Cipetic, he did get the assist for the goal. However, I don't know why he started when Todorovic is fit and available.
Also: Ahmedhodzic looks like he will be an excellent defender in the years to come. But this is a big game in which to give a kid his debut alongside another player (Sanincanin) who is himself an international rookie. As is Cipetic.
I still like Bajević and hope he stays for the next cycle. Definitely some questionable moves during the course of the game but at the end of the day he can’t put the ball in the goal for the players. Cipetić played well, understand that he had the mistake that led to the goal but he also caused a lot of problems down the side, he is a player not meant for the Bosnian premier league. In the end though, we’ve all seen this movie before, inexcusable to lose to a shit team like this at home in a huge match.
The formation, psychological and technical preparation were awful, though. Prosinecki tried to shoehorn BiH into playing 4-3-3. It worked as long as Ognjen Vranjes was around to effectively make it a 3-4-3: he was a solid defender who could also bring the ball forward. But since Vranjes' departure, no one seems to have realised that the core reason Bosnia lose is that they don't play to their strength: a midfield-based attacking possession game. They need numbers in midfield and an attacking pattern of play. Blazevic even provided them with the blueprint: deploy two playmakers and two strikers, and only play three at the back. Tonight was typical: BiH start well and race into a deserved 1-0 lead. But then they inexplicably sit back, invite the opposition onto them and keep giving the ball away with loose balls out of defence.
Cipetic was decent today. He has played 2 games for us and has two mistakes and two goals from those mistakes in both games. I'm still not 100% about him, especially today when they actually attacked he looked lost on his back foot. Got beat multiple times today. I just feel like he would be better as a back-up shouldn't be the starter. Kadusic or Todorovic for me. If not even promote Dedic from the u-21.
