The Nations League is done (barring the playoffs) and the draw is set. Who would you guys like for us to draw in a group for these qualifiers?

I'd like to see us in one of the 5 team groups and pull out Italy, Scotland, Finland, and Faroe Islands, a set of new opponents as I'm tired of getting the same teams all the time. Whoever we get I feel our chances of qualifying directly are very good. It would honestly be a travesty if we miss out on another 24 team Euro, especially with two great chances to make it to the finals.

We really have to qualify this time. Our goal overall as a second-tier European national team should be to consistently qualify for tournaments, ala a Croatia, Switzerland, etc. That has start here with a 24-team Euro.

    My preferred draw would be:

    Netherlands/Croatia
    BiH
    Finland
    Lithuania
    Luxembourg
    San Marino

    I would hate this draw:

    Spain
    BiH
    Turkey
    Greece
    Belarus
    Latvia

Not a bad draw. We should definitely qualify, although it’s not guaranteed.

Is it top two qualify? Then if we don’t manage that we have a second chance from nations league playoffs?

Here’s our schedule. Two home game to start should be 6 points.

If we can get 3 wins from the first three games, we will have almost secured qualification right there. We’d be on 9 points, then Liechtenstein is automatic 6 points. We’d have 15 points, with still Armenia/Greece away, Finland at home. There should be a bare minimum of 4 points in there, totalling 19. That’s around the amount of a typical second place finish.

Of course this is all projecting off the first few games, point being a great start may wrap things up early.

As a Greek supporter I wish you guys the best of luck and I honestly think you guys can take first in this group as you are currently in pretty good form and the Italians have their own problems.. Finland wont give you guys a problem either will Greece who is a disaster right now...I can see you guys beating Italy at home and drawing them in Italy...Anyways good luck im sure you wont have any problem qualifying out of this group..

Important notes for this first set of fixtures:

    • Kolašinac will be rested tomorrow to make sure he is fully fit vs. Greece.

    • Begović has found himself without a call up again. He and Prosinečki seem to have a poor relationship, and his poor form at Bournemouth isn’t helping his case to receive a call-up. Begović has been benched at the club level for several weeks now.

    • Samir Memišević (CB, Groningen, 25 yo) received his first call up in the Prosinečki-led NT. He is replacing the injured Stjepan Lončar (CM, Rijeka, 22 yo).

    • Džeko will earn his 100th cap for BiH tomorrow. The closest active member to him is Pjanić, who currently sits at 84 games for Bosna.

The lineup I’d like to see tomorrow:

    Šehić
    Todorović - Šunjić - Zukanović - Ćivić
    Bešić
    Pjanić —— Krunić
    Višća — Džeko — Duljević

I haven't been on this forum for a long time. Hoped to see Kolasinac back but we need him for the Greece game. I also liked Duljevic and he played good for the NT the last few games, not sure why he's on the bench. Maybe he's resting him also for the Greece game. It should be an easy win today but with our NT always expect the unexpected.

I always watch BiH unless there’s something big going on in school.

But the Nations League performance reinvigorated my passion for the NT, we looked really solid.

Duljević since about Novemeber has played about 4 or 5 games for Dynamo Dresden. To be fair, he’s played in their most recent matches, bit overall he hasn’t played a lot at all recently.

Yeah similar here. I come for a little while usually when games are on and then disappear for months. We should be able to get a win without some of our best players like Kola...Looks like Krunic and Zakaric are both starting too. Will be interesting to see what they show.

Cool. I hope the school stuff is going well. Same for me even though i'm still not as passionate as in the past. Maybe im trying to keep it at a reasonable level in case there's huge disappointment. :)

Not a fan of the long balls. Just keep in on the ground and have the ball for as long as possible, looking for holes to exploit.

Man I like Višća but it feels like he misses an easy chance one time per game.

Man Zakarić has been pretty poor. Besides drawing a foul, he has sent a few poor balls in and not done much else.

Krunic! Good stuff...Not a bad half so far but could be better still.
