I dont think we played partically well against inter ... The zielinski goal released alot of space for us to run into - yet we didnt really create a lot of big chances given how many favourable situations we got in. We ********ed up in defence a couple of times too - Reina was saving our asses a couple of times. my point is Inter were just bad that match. We need to forget about that match and concentrate about Benfica. someone tell Sarri
Please Napoli win this, make Serie A proud. And don't count on Dynamo Kyiv winning or even getting a draw, they have nothing to play for.
Yeah but if we draw and besiktas lose we go through as group winners. If besiktas draw or win we go through as second. If we win benfica we finish first nonetheless.
At this point if we finish second there really isn't that much difference than if we were to finish first looking at the potential candidates. Finishing first could land us Bayern or Real, whereas finishing second could land us Leicester for instance
Maronn' I'm nervous. I know we can dominate if we play as Sarri preaches...but to win we need CUUULOOOO as well. So here it is: VINCERE VINCERE DEVIIII VINCEEEEREE!!!
There is still a benefit to finishing first I'd say: If Group Winners the teams likely to face are: Bayern, Dortmund, Man City, Sevilla, Arsenal, Leverkusen, and Copenhagen. If Group Runners Up the teams likely to face are: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico, PSG, Monaco, and Leicester. Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico, are still stronger than Bayern, Dortmund, and Man City. In fact PSG can even be a threat, and I believe PSG are stronger than they look. PSG and Man City in my eyes are quite comparable. Monaco is also not a team to be underestimated, and is likely superior to Arsenal, and on par with Sevilla. I am assuming Real Madrid will beat Dortmund at the Bernabeu. Dortmund and Man City are good teams, but they have quite a few problems in defense, and their defense can be extremely shaky at times. Real and Atletico have pretty much a solid defense.
Allan is the kind of player you like for these kinds of games, would have preferred Slinky Zielinky to Hamdik starting but he is the club captain and you need him to be a leader in tough venues like this
Allans hard work is important but when you have an anchoring defensive mid like Diawara ideally you'd want both the central midfielders to push up. I think zielinski instead of Allan would have been useful (or jorgy instead of diawara) if we wanted to take the game to them
we had a chance to lock this group up ages ago...if we don't get through, this is totally on us. I pray for victory because I don't want our champions league run to end here...but, I can totally see it not going our way. I agree...we need to play like we played Inter. Threatening, attacking football and Reina needs to show up big today.
