In some way we are more focused against top teams in the KO stage. Man City is not an easy opponent, but I think we’ll do great and we’ll be focused 100%.
I have two main worries for this game, Carvajal’s form because he’s going up against Sterling and how we contain KDB, you give that guy an inch and he scores a screamer.
We have good defense and shape, regardless what people on RMBS say. We need to stuff and counter which we're great at. We need everyone healthy though.

We create chances, i think we have been defending and controlling games relatively well, recently and against fairly decent opposition ( against Farca will be another marker as to how we are doing) we just need to be much more clinical in front of goal, we can’t afford 6 chances to score one goal in a game like that, need to be more decisive in the final third, I am hoping our finishing is much better by Feb with maybe Hazard and Jovic getting in on the act along with Benz and all our other goalscorers so far this season,
When you come in second place you don't have much of a choice. You get what you get. We've gotten plenty of teams in the past that people felt we'd steamroll over and it turned out a nightmare. City are strong but so is Madrid. Its a battle of similarly strengthed teams.

Back when we played Bayern they had won the league and had been resting players for weeks and we clapped them. On top of that, City dropping points isn't helpful to them no matter how you flip it. It would create a bad mood, and lots of Pep departure rumors. They're going to give it their all in the league.
Against City I would definitely not play a 4-3-3, either a 4-1-4-1 or a 4-3-1-2 , with Fede helping contain the threats heading down Carvajal’s side, I wouldn’t start Marcelo at the Etihad either.
City are on pace to get 78 points in the league. So they could be fighting for a top 4 spot this season. Can't focus on just CL alone.

This is 50/50. They will be better then but so will we. We have shown a gear — at times — that few can cope with. In my view, when it comes to relatively even matchups, we got a break having the first leg being played @ the Bernabeu. Away goals opportunity in the second leg could be huge.
