Frings became very popular instantly right after that handball, everyone talked about him here in US.

I´m happy that you talked so much about Frings and german soccer in the USA after this story. We was happy we won and could play in Finale.

But from american point view - how would you describe the game against Germany? You could have won if.....

    perfect description:)

The difference between USA and Germany in the game in the WC 02 was:
USA had a lot of chances, they played actually better, ..Germany had two big chances and we converted at least ONE

Ballack told that it was hard game, but we had a bit good luck in this game as well...

Ballack and Kahn were simply heros in this game for me..

Americans kept our team under pressure and were pretty fit and good...
this is why I´m your fan now:)...

Remember, before the World Cup 2002, no one thought we had any chance of doing well, or surviving the first round. We were big surprise....and I´m sure Germany will be big surprise next year as well:)

to win soccer game does not mean to have only big chances, but it is more about turn chances into goals:)

well i´m not just BS poster, but real US fan...this is difference..

anyway I believe that I will meet USMNT during friendly game in Dortmund or World Cup...I don´t think they will be so many US fans in Dortmund..so I have chance ..at least I´m optimistist.

btleo, does it usually snow in late March in Germany? I want to get tickets, but I don't want to drive 3 to 4 hours in the snow.

it depends in which federal state ....

but I would not be worry that we will have so much snow in Dortmund in march...probably we will have no snow in march..

we don´t have usually so much snow here in Cologne area, we have rarely snow in winter as well......Dortmund is not so far away from Cologne...I don´t think it will be snow in march in Dortmund..but of course I can not grant you this 100%...but from my experiences in last years we really dont have so much snow here in Rhein-Ruhr area. .

Hey, just come to friendly game....would be fun!

Will you fly from USA to Dortmund or another german city?

I was just blaming the refferee for a lot of things happened and i still am until this day but i am happy that Germany won and made it to the final with the team that wasn't really good to Germany's standard.

    oh, very nice comment, diplomatic..

I´m very happy friendly USA-Germany has been scheduled....

and believe me this success of Germany and USA from 2002 will repeat again....this time we will not play in quarter-finale..I think think we can meet earliest in semi-finale...so I hope you will advance in the group, in quarterfinale and we meet again....what then happens, hm:)..we will see..

but I would like to see Germany-USA II in WC 06!!

oh, should we take Frings again:)???

    hey bltleo hehe

What’s your fascination with the USMNT? is it because you have similar styles?

Or is it because you just like the USA?

This will be a good test, a chance to get some of our borderline Euros a look see, and as an added bonus, a chance to get a taste for playing in the host country again before the WC (as we did with Korea - don't think for a moment that didn't help us out)...

Still and all, it's a friendly. No revenge factor here (unless Dallas is reffing  )...

Now, if we we're to meet again next summer... :)

    Say, in Berlin... :D

oh, Trier...hm...well from Trier to drive to Dortmund would be not problem.

but better it is really to take train....IC, take a beer as ohK4 said or nice book..

but driving to Dortmund would be not problem - it depends on traffic of course..

so come to Dortmund and support USMNT..o.k?

    hm...interesting question my dutch friend

well many german friends asked me this...If you say German or Dutch or any other European that you support USA, they think you got crazy or you don´t have idea about soccer....If you say that you think USA and Czechs would advance in the group, they start to laugh...what USA?..:)..

if I tell Americans that I support USMNT, mostly think that I love USMNt only because of Donovan (many here knows that I´m his fan) or because of other nice cool boys (they just think I´m young lady who is crazy about all these american soccer players).

    but no one is right..

I actually like american soccer because of their style, of course nice side-effect that they have sweet players:)..

but the reason I support USMNT is their "american soccer style"

I like US soccer because they fascinated me last World Cup...
I also heard that in USA is soccer not that so popular sport as in Europe..
I have very good friend in USA....We made many interesting games during world cup 2002 , bet on games..and he told me a lot about US soccer, he
told me a lot about your players...I would say he have given me many knowledges about soccer...and I started to like it more and more....
and he also recommended me this board as well.

I have been following much more closier USMNT since this year, follow news,
games of USMNT, US youth soccer and try to support american soccer..

I would say: It is worth to support US soccer because it is different than
to be one of Millions of fans of german soccer only, it is better to be one of minority in Germany who support USMNT...

of course Germany is still my first team, but if USA don´t play against Germany, I support USA..

so in the friendly USA-GERMANY, we are rivals:)..I support Germany of course
    ..but I hope you understand....thanks..

I´m glad we are not in the same group in the World cup....!!!
