I have been thinking about this for some time now. Many people have been critical of April and her choices for the World Cup Team. It would be great to have a second opinion or maybe even a different coach for the Olympics. Many other sports pick a coach specifically for the Olympics. It would give all players a fresh look and it might even put a fire under some of the complacent veterans. No one player would have a pass for this team. Imagine an open tryout for the Olympic team with players making it based upon their tryout performance.

The coach selected should be independent of the Women's program now so their picks would not just mirror the existing program.

    What say you?

If USA flames out real bad in the World Cup, they could have a new coach for the Olympics anyway. It will be interesting to see what happens if the US team doesn't get past the quarterfinal round.
