1. Breathe 2. Capitalization and punctuation is extremely important 3. SportTV and TVI share the games per week. Portuguese law dictates that at least one game involving a 'grande' must be shown on open air TV. In Portugal, TVI is the open air channel that owns the rights to this one grande per week match. TVI does not have an international channel so that Portuguese immigrants can get to see this one grande per week match - RTP does. So, TVI contracts RTPi to broadcast this match. Therefore, if you are upset (and clearly, something is obviously getting your knickers in a knot) take it up with TVI. If you are really upset and want to do something, send them an e-mail. If I were you, I would actually thank TVI for giving RTPi a chance to show millions and millions of us a game per week. Not everyone has FPTV on Bell or SPT on DishNet, so this is the only game they get to watch and are quite satisfied, even if they favourite team is not on. P.S. - RTPi is going to re-broadcast the Boavista x Benfica match at 9:40 pm EST on Sunday, but hey, we do't like RTPi anymore, do we?
...as will Sporting. Let's face it, the 2 most important games this week are the ones being shown on TV.

Good news for Canadians. The CRTC has finally approved of the candidacy of RTPi for the Canadian market. It now has to go through a period of public hearings until June 23rd. If all goes well, we can possibly see RTPi on digital providers like Rogers. I believe RAI will soon be available on Rogers after it was approved by the CRTC. http://195.245.179.232/canais-tv/rtpi/esclarecimentos_canada.htm
Here is the news release from the CRTC website: http://www.crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/Notices/2005/pb2005-54.htm This has got to be the absolute stupidest thing, that it has taken this long to actually add RTPi to the homes of Canadians. I mean, I am all for Canadian content, but let's get serious, does the CRTC actually think that by having state channels from Portugal, Italy or Romania this will make Canadians less Canadian? Absolutley assinine...and I was this close to adding a 36" dish on my roof to get RTPi on AMC 4 101 west...
I better not have to pay for it because I get it free right now and if they take it off my FTA satellite I'll be pissed.
The dish signal is the better option IMO and RTP has a contract for that particular satelite for 4 or 5 more years from what someone told me. I'm sure that RTPi will probably only be offered on Digital and will have some crazy price like $15 per month just for the one channel. There's also the issue of FPTV possibly raising a stink about this since they would pretty much become useless. I know that Telelatino has pretty much dropped it's complaints about RAI getting on the airwaves.
