It has to be ingrained in you over a long period of proper training. MLS coaches don't have the time and a lot of American MLS players don't have the technical abilities to even begin to try it. Thankfully, the latter is slowly begin to change.

MLS offers a variety of tactics. Last year you had the Galaxy playing Chelsea light and the Rapids playing direct and RSL with more ball control. Perhaps every team is using the same tactics against Toronto. It's always the same question: would Barcelona look like crap if all of their opponents played like them?
