Bwahahahahaha! Fox News gets the best of Tucker Carlson (CNN). Tucker Carlson: 703-519-6456 WASHINGTON — In what could only have been a journalistic blunder, Tucker Carlson, co-host of CNN's "Crossfire," gave out the wrong phone number Thursday when prodded on the show to reveal his home number. Carlson, apparently confused, mistakenly gave out the number of the Washington bureau of Fox News Channel, which received numerous phone calls. Viewers who want to reach Carlson can, in fact, dial the television "personality" at his Virginia home at 703-519-6456. Following a riveting segment on his show about who's most annoying -- telemarketers, lawyers or talk show hosts -- Carlson graciously gave out his phone number to an e-mail writer who said he wanted to direct-market to Carlson some of his "junk in the garage." Carlson praised the writer for his good idea, and co-host Paul Begala, egging him on, dared Carlson to give out his number. "Get out your pen," Carlson said before reciting the main line at Fox News' Washington bureau. "You can reach me there anytime," Carlson said. "That's fine. I have defended telemarketers. Feel free to call me, someone is always there." After numerous callers made clear they had intended to reach Carlson, Fox News felt obligated once again to get the facts right and correct Carlson's error. Carlson's actual home phone number is 703-519-6456.
I don't get it. Tucker makes a fairly clever and subtle practical joke by passing a Fox bureau number over the air as his own home number. Then Fox responds with "Oh yeah- well two can play at that game- we're going to pass YOUR number over the air!" And you all think Fox is the funny one? Do you guys enjoy "Friends?"
Not that I have any love for Tucker, but quoting the Fox News # over the air as his own is mighty funny. Fox's response is not nearly as clever.
Giving out a businesses phone number and someone's home phone number are completely different. How would you guys like FNC putting your number out there for all to see? Not that I like Tucker, I think he's a clown just like Carville. I just think individual rights should be treated more carefully than that of a major television network.
In the whole scheme of things Fox is merely correcting Tucker. He was defending the right of companies to call people up at their homes. He more or less told the caller to bring it on and call him at home. He gave out Fox's number as a joke but I'm sure now he will not be too pleased when he will be getting more call than average now. What Fox did was distasteful but Tucker got what he asked for.
