Is there a word for something that's both deeply worrisome as a sign of ascendant authoritarianism AND pathetically funny?Because Trump reinforcing the most secure public building on Earth with plywood, chickenwire and a legion of Pauls Blart is DEFINITELY that.— zeddy (@Zeddary) June 4, 2020 That Biden thinks 85% of his fellow citizens are good people is just another demonstration of him being one of the sunniest and most optimistic people in politics. https://t.co/eAtqetBicX— Josh Barro (@jbarro) June 5, 2020
Amash/Abrams ... that has a nice ring to it. The Unity Party. I'd be up for that.* * If the two majority choices were The Unity Party and Donald Trump, you damn well better believe that I would be.
Typical little baby Trumpie, his fee-fees are so easily hurt. He will endorse any candidate against Murkowski, "good or bad," because she criticized poor little Donnie. https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-murkowski-mattis-003152256.html Am ready to leave The Gerber Presidency.
“How is this a great day for George Floyd?” I shouted to President Trump, before he turned and exited the Rose Garden without taking a single question. https://t.co/ks60ONgeUn— Peter Alexander (@PeterAlexander) June 5, 2020
Any people or news that benefits him is great. Even a guy choked to death by the state. The 80% of Evangelicals who supported this fvcker should all Jonestown themselves.
Remember that Amash is a climate change denying, pro-gun, anti Dept. of Ed., anti Obamacare (and wanted to repeal it), wants limited govt and voted for the Trump Tax Cuts. He sucks with the exception of a few issues like forever wars & immigration (his parents were immigrants). Hard pass.
The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy. Amash is a piece of shit, even if he doesn't like a different orange piece of shit.
I would perhaps be ok with say a Romney/Amash 3rd party candidacy. Yes they would lose, but I imagine they would take a lot of republican votes away from Trump. There are Republicans out there that will vote for Biden, those may be lost to Romney/Amash, but I suspect there are more reluctant Trump supporters that could never vote Democrats because of what ever reason, the best hope right now is that they stay home. Then again, a problem could be that them staying home is better for down ballot democrats, other wise they may go to the polls to vote Romney, and then vote republican for other contests.
So, if Amash was running against Trump, would we be able to say #bothSidesDoIt? Asking for.... err... a friend.. That's it, a friend....
Amazing !!! 126891597519962112 is not a valid tweet id But violent Antifa!!! Joe is on a roll... he has earned my precious invaluable vote... JUST IN: Joe Biden on Pres. Trump's reference to George Floyd today: "George Floyd's last words, 'I can't breathe, I can't breathe,' have echoed all across this nation...For the president to try to put any other words in the mouth of George Floyd I frankly think is despicable." pic.twitter.com/Tnm8wHaqQV— ABC News Politics (@ABCPolitics) June 5, 2020
This post explains racism to white Americans: the freeway and local cops routinely pull behind me to run my plates. All I want to come out of this (Floyd) is to feel safe in more places than just my home.” The man who shared that with me is a senior member of a major Bay Area police agency. For officers in America, (2/3)— Rep. Eric Swalwell (@RepSwalwell) June 5, 2020 And this is president much what we have to do: What if — and hear me out here — we invested in Black communities rather than mass incarceration and the police?— Robert Reich (@RBReich) June 4, 2020
A trump quote from a Rose Garden press briefing. I was exercising in my back yard when NPR's hourly news update came on and played the tape. Damn lucky I didn't injure myself. Brace yourself: it might be the most cringe-inducing thing I've ever heard him say.
I am going to have to find it somewhere. And believe it or not, I am going to HOPE that it, in context, is not as bad as people are saying everywhere online.
I repeat: brace yourself. And if you happen to have a 24 kg kettlebell over your head at the time, put it down as smoothly as possible and restart the exercise after you've cleared your head.
So, the context really was in regards to the rebounding economy being the best cure for social inequities, with a shout-out to George Floyd in the midst of it. I am actually more stupefied about this than angry. On what planet does he find it appropriate to talk about George Floyd only in the context of the economy. He has a major malfunction.
