I mean, it just isn’t true. Liga MX fuerzas básicas take part in international tourneys frequently and more than hold their own against better teams than Blackpool.
So no Sub-20 WC and no Olympics Awesome job FMF! Gonna go full circle with the fails in Qatar later this year too
Clearly Luis Perez didn’t have these boys prepared for this. I guess he never had them practice PKs? An easier path could not have been had, but you gotta hand it to the Guatemalan goal keeper. Well deserved for them, and a justified result for the level of preparation this Mexico team showed. All of you guys have already said it. This is just the fruit of how business is run in the Mexican soccer system. It’s great when everyone around you plays with a square ball, but the region has improved while things have stayed the same or regressed for Mexico.
This is so boring. It's clear that most youth players struggle to make the leap from the youth leagues to the professional league. You don't pay enough attention if you can't see that. You don't even have to take my word for it. Several sporting directors have spoken on that very topic and they've all said as much, the gap between the youth leagues and Liga MX is too large. If you don't want to accept that and think the only reason we haven't produced a great senior NT is because Liga MX coaches hate youth players, you're naive.
When was the last time Chivas produced anyone good as of late? Don’t they spend millions buying other clubs youth players?
Para que mas rabia les de, remember that the U20/Olympics package qualifying thing was created so the USA could make the olympics more often.
No olympics, what? Lol FMF can suck it for not developing as needed. Hope we go three and out at Qatar too!
Instead of saying it’s boring, you could just admit you were wrong. The Blackpool comment was especially obtuse considering there are actual results to the contrary, but who am I to use facts. Liga MX not knowing how to develop players isn’t a new nor a groundbreaking statement. To think there are still people from the old guard who think that 20s year olds aren’t ready to play in Liga MX is depressing. I guess the euro leagues didn’t get that memo.
I didn't remember until other people here brought it up. Basically the nads were missing out on too many olympics because they couldn't qualify with MLS players so CONCACAF came up with some weird new system where the nations that qualify for the U20 WCs that line up with olympics qualify for olympics as well. Something like that. It makes zero sense but anything to help the USSF.
Saying the same thing over and over. You constantly make wrong assessments about youth players in the Liga MX thread. I don't know how wrong you are about other clubs, but you're virtually always wrong about Pachuca players, and I know that because I actually watch the U20 league games. Your binary thinking is boring. Much more needs to be done rather than forcing Liga MX clubs to play more 20 year olds.
Next time, I’d think twice before arguing something that can be factually disproven. That or learn to accept you were wrong. It’s that simple. Good night.
20 year old Mexicans are too young for the "rigor" of mighty Liga MX. But teenage euro players are okay to be starters in Liga NOS, La Liga, Eredivisie, etc. Complements from the guy who told us Bryan González and Roberto de la Rosa were good. Por eso estamos como estamos.
My comments have nothing to do with youth specifically. They have to do with the gap between the secondary leagues and Liga MX. The players in the U20 league happen to be 20, but there's a big gap between Liga MX and Expansion as well. "Por eso estamos como estamos". Ok perfect, let's leave it there and we can just tell everyone your corny ass had the final say.
