In my experience. (Two games) there is nothing by the stadium whatsoever after the event. There is a big mall but otherwise you are in the middle of nowhere. The downside of staying elsewhere is you likely need a car.
My Baylor Bears are playing Kansas State the next night so this worked out perfectly. I've actually never attended a qualifier before. How would y'all advise getting tickets and when are they available?
Several options: - check this board for the latest, cross fingers. - join american outlaws, to be guaranteed access to early sales opportunity. Supporters section only. www.theamericanoutlaws.com - join US Supporters club for guaranteed access to early sales opportunity. http://www.ussoccer.com/community/copy-of-ussocccer-sc-bak.aspx - ticketmaster online when it's open to the public. Would expect ticket info for another couple months at the earliest. Good luck.
I'm sure it's fine but mostly because I don't know you. It's just kinda filled with overpriced (sometimes roofied) drinks and lots of douchey frat guy types. I'm not here to judge though.
The Party the night before the game will be at the P&L. If you are doing a 3 Days 2 nights stay then I would stay downtown as well, but the cab fee will be rich getting to the game and back. If you are driving yourself... beware, one bridge is being worked on and all the traffic to the west is a little tricky to get to.
What are the odds of making it to the game in time if I leave VERY early Friday AM from Chicago? I'm already planning on 2-3 days off for Mexico, and I'm not sure I can accomodate more time off from work.
Well, its only a 90 minute flight.... And no more than couple hundred bucks. No brainer. Driving takes me about 8 hrs. Take 55 to StL then 70 to KC. Assuming game will be 7p-ish. So 8am deparure gives you plenty of time.
Didn't realize this game is on a Friday night and the flights from Texas are dirt cheap through Southwest. More than likely might make this my 3rd WCQ for 2013 since I already have that Friday off from work.
This is going to be my backup plan if I don't win the lottery for Columbus. Tickets should be a little easier to get.
AO tix onsale in 15 minutes EDIT: Just went onsale. 52 for members, 57 for non. Deadline to Order is Thursday, August 8th at 9pm central.
