One more update - I posted a question on Bernardo's blog about this, and he said he would ask Mullan this weekend about it.

Bernardo said that the team said that the surgery was to repair a meniscus:

According to the team, Mullan had knee surgery in his left knee to repair a meniscus in mid December. Usually this would qualify as arthroscopic surgery. Now, the difference between arthroscopic and microfracture surgery is huge.

So hopefully the report that it was microfracture surgery is incorrect (not picking on you zolafan, it just seems strange that the stories are so different about what the surgery was....)

More on Training camp from the Dynamo website (they are doing a pretty good job of updating every couple of days on the "Training camp today" button off the main page).

Waibel and Mullan still not practicing, but the trainer said that they should be ready to see limited action sometime this week.

DeRosario just got back with the team yesterday, as did Holden.

It says that Clark had not rejoined the team yet as of Sunday from the USMNT match, probably just getting a rest. No practice today, and they leave for San Jose Tuesday.

No update on Brad Davis, or any other trialists or anything.

Mullan, OTOH, spoke quite freely about his surgery, told me that it was microfracture surgery, they took out some cartilage and drilled holes in his femur. Dom was saying they expected him back at practice in a couple of wks, but I associate microfracture surgery with the kind of stuff that Amare Stoudamire and Greg Oden went through, where guys are out for a year. I didn't ask when that surgery was.

Seems like Mullan needs to learn what kind of surgery he had! Bernardo confirmed today in his blog that the team is still saying it was normal arthroscopic surgery. You'd sure hope that Brian would know what he had done to him, though!
