Correct. Any list that does not start:

    1. Cristiano Ronaldo

    <BIG GAP>

    2...

    Can be completely ignored.

so let me get this straight cuz this is the second time i've seen one these posts from you, you make absolutely biased statements which are ridiculous on so many levels and then you get offended when people contradict your posts? i've got no problem with your opinions but you have to admit that you are somewhat biased with your C. Ronaldo as best player and Zidane as a scrub statements.

    #1 C. Ronaldo
    #2 Adebyor
    #3 KaKa
    #4 Benzema
    #5 Torres

Anybody who claims that Ronaldo is not the best player in the world is clearly biased to an insane degree. 27 all competitions goal (already) from midfield when he has two world class strikers playing in front of him - we are currently watching the next (for real) legend at work.

kaka has been caca in the last few months, the best player on his team has been Pato, until he got injured, Ibrahimovic and Ronaldo have been in the best form recently

It's hard to be a play maker when you're trying to get gilardino to score...

i agree, kaka doesnt have to score because he attracks defenders and gets people like pato and gilardino open

Not ridiculous at all. Over the last couple of seasons Ronaldo has clearly been the best player on the planet when you consider overall form and influence for both club and country, particularly in relation to his peers. I'm not saying anything outrageous, as anyone who has bothered to watch him and football in general will tell you exactly the same thing.

I also never said that Zidane was a scrub. What I did say was that he is vastly overrated for the reasons I detailed previously.

    C. Ronaldo may be the best player in the world as far as recent performance, but Messi is the most gifted . Even if people don't consider him the best in the world, he still makes the top 5 hands down.

Not going to knock your opinion but I personally wouldn't put 3 of those guys in the top 5 best players in the world. Gerrard is not a top 5 player in the world. RVN is a great goal scorer but he's not top 5 anymore. And Raul, although a Madrid legend is no longer top 5 in the world anymore.

I would add messi, Kaka and based on form alone this year I would say robinho is earning a place in the world as a top 5 player.

No problem, thank you for your criticisms :) I'll soon tell you a secret ;)

Interesting, because my 6th and 7th place would go to Robinho and Messi, in this order. And I'm considering only the form this season, like - I think - the previous posters, so Kaka is not in my top 10.

Messi is not naturally more gifted than C. Ronaldo, and even if he were it is not evident on the pitch. Ronaldo's form has been devistating to defenders there is nobody currently who comes close to him. He is bigger, stronger, faster, scores more (from midfield mind you 27 this season all competitions) he is the most coveted player on the planet by other teams Barca would sell Messi in a heart beat if they though they could get Ronaldo. I dont dislike Messi but this season has proven that Ronaldo (currently) is in a class by himself.

My top 5, in no order (feel free to attack):

    Cristiano Ronaldo
    Zlatan Ibrahimovic
    Gianluigi Buffon
    Miroslav Klose
    Kaka

Five more who could also just as easily be included: Ruud van Nistelrooy, Alessandro Nesta, Iker Casillas, Francesco Totti, Lionel Messi

I'm not sure: Torres is a forward, so his must is to score goals, or at least to make up assists, but even in these stats Gerrard isn't doing worse than him:
    - Premier League: T 12g, 2a - G 8g, 7a
    - FA Cup: T 0g - G 3g
    - League Cup: T 3g - G 1g
    - Champions League: T 3g, 0a - G 4g, 2a
    - Total: T 18g, 2a - G 16g, 9a

Iniesta over Messi? Iniesta in the Top 5 in the world? I really like Iniesta but he's not nearly THAT good (maybe not yet at least :D).

    I think messi is overrated.

IMO, iniesta makes Barcelon click. Most of their works comes through him and if is simply overlooked because he does not provide the end product like a messi or a ronaldinho.
