Yes, that's true, he is American. I am American too. I would have thought it normal for an American to pick American players as favorites, and as I explained, he just signed with Salt Lake (my home town team)... like someone who supports a serie C team might have one of their players as a favorite. I don't mean to say Mathis is a great like Henry or Ronaldinho, or that he is as famous. Though all American fans know him.

6 pages of the most loved, respected footballers, and not one mention of Gianfranco Zola. What a shame. :(

I hate to admit that he's one of my favorite non-Ajax/Arsenal players, but he doesn't make this list:
    Saint Dennis
    Cruyff
    Overmars
    Johnny 0'Brien
    Gilles Grimandi

Saw Cruyff play for Washington Diplomats. Still class.

    i have to agree.

getting 100,000 swedes to sign a petition to get him to play for sweden in euro 2004, plus royalty, and then scoring two great goals in one minute vs bulgaria.

plus all celtic fans love him

Wouldn't be too sure about Martins and apart from Ronaldinho all the others were better in the past...

Glad you're in a jovial mood, because for a second there I thought you said Grimandi, and meant it. ROFL.

I did  :D . A true Gunner to a lot of Arsenal fans and the only Arsenal player I've met in person. Obviously not one of the best, but he did his job, whatever was asked of him, and played with his heart. Look him up in Wikipedia. Disclaimer: I do not have a mancrush on and am not stalking Gilles Grimandi. :D
