I feel as there is a big difference between the 'top 10 players' and those who have individually effected this World Cup - In the sense that some did not perform to their expectations, I guess.

My top 10 would have to be based off those players who have made an impact purely off this WC:
    • James Rodriguez
    • Neymar Jr
    • Tim Krul
    • Messi
    • Robben
    • Suarez
    • Oscar
    • Sneijder
    • Mueller
    • David Luiz

    Are you serious with Krul?

He's yet to start a match as a gk for Holland

Ok so he did well the one time he got to play in the penalty shoot out and made two saves, but so did Julio Cesar and Costa Rica's gk (against Greece) yet they aren't in your top 10 list...

James Rodriguez is really amazing, I'm really sorry for him the he could not made it to the finals, he would for sure score more goals!

I agree with you that Krul doesn't Belong, if he's to take a spot then Julio Cesar is ahead of him anyways, also made 2 saves in PKs plus is the starting keeper for Brazil, and I don't think he belongs there

Who can? Nobody... - there is 11 persons in every team.

No - he does not dribble past 10 defenders and he is no show horse. But he makes goals from nothing and in this tournament he created four 1:0s by either scoring or assisting in 5 matches. He packs out a stunning 1:0 against USA - a shot that he usually only does every four years but not against Barfuss Bethlehem in unimportant matches... His cross for Götze's 1:0 against Ghana was inch perfect. And his cross for Schürrle through the legs of a defender with his left foot was very well timed.

He took part in 67% of Germany's goals with goal or assist. He works his ass off pressing the goalkeeper and defenders and like this a lot of balls get back to Germany without initiating an attack for the opposition.

It is about performance - not about what a player could be or how it looks. At the moment Müller is everything positive what Germany has in the offense - everybody else apart from maybe Schürrle is disappointing. He is pretty much left alone... All this other shiny little technical Germany stars hide probably at Fifa14 and the social networks. Football is about will, mentality, fighting, intelligence, off the ball movement, positioning, workrate as much as it is about ball skills and technique.

You know why Robben is that great - because he has learned to work for others, too.

And Müller can win matches on his own. I know countless matches in which the team played bad and he just manages to score out of nowhere. He usually hides in the matches in which minors get slaughtered and everything goes easy...

After the World Cup it will be like four years ago - the little kids try tricks that Neymar and Co. make - the coaches try to find out about Müller's running ways and what makes them working so good.

I'm sorry most members don't watch the game closely enough to be able to name top players that aren't goal scorers. When people say Messi is a top player this tournament when he was at fault for losing possession so many times in the group stage, it's ridiculous for me. A top player is someone who helps his team, who works. Dempsey may have been a top player for me. Tim Cahill is a top player. Neymar carrying brazil on his back is a top player.... Messi and muller are simply players that play for top teams, not the other way around

Electric Sanchez wasn't even mentioned and you all loved Chile so much at the start of the tournament. Another top player for his side. Teams would kill for an electric Sanchez. No one would kill for muller.

Your believe. He was in the books of every top trainer and every European club and had offers from them in the recent 5 years - and national coaches like Prandelli or Del Bosque have voted him in the no. 3 of the Ballon d'Or. Not in 2010 but in 2011. Scolari in 2013 told that he is a very big fan of him and that he would play in every team.

Guardiola wanted to have him in Barcelona, Ancelotti for Chelsea - he rejected 3 offers of Manchester United in the last 5 years.

He might not be the fan favourite in times of Fifa 14 - but he for sure is one for the coaches. He delivers stats the stars deliver with the addition that he makes the person around him better with his work rate, his anticipation for situation, his team-first-thinking...

Manuel Neuer, period, the without a doubt most consistent gk of this WC. Even when Germany is leading 5:0, he is still giving everything.

    That would be a Best X. I guess with that line-up, 11 aren't needed. :)

You seem bitter. Guy puts on a clinic against Portugal and you cannot get over it.

He is a good player. Fantastic even.

Yup I'm bitter, but I'll never admit that he's a good individual player, cause he isn't.
