especially Constanzo, I read somewhere that they were after Calero, but since Mexico pays more (Boca - Cardozo) I don't see that happening...
We all heard it from Efer's big mouth. Cardozo to Boca haaaaaaaa mas facil me ponen a mi el 9 de los bosteros. Ese Costanzo es malito. River es pura clase pero que jugadores tan malos/peresosos no se que les pasa. Y Pellegrini para donde se va? Quien llega a River?
Off the top of my head, I like: Independiente (Arg): After a crappy year in the Argentinian league, they started really good in Copa Libertadores and Argentina. Sporting Cristal: Very convincing win over Coritiba Deportivo Cali: Beat the Chilean "sub-campeon" Colo-Colo 3-2 in their stadium. Going down: River Plate: I said it too many times last year. Started CL with a tie against a team from Venezuela. River tied and also lost against Nueva Chicago in their first game in the Argentinian league. Cruzeiro: The referee is involved in more plays than Rivaldo. Alex and the goalie are really good, but the team is not the best in South America. Boca Juniors: Lost 3-1 against Bolivar in CL and lost 3-0 in the argentinian league against Velez. This team is not doing good. The "not-arg-brazilian" teams have a good opportunity to go up in the rankings.
currently my top 10 in South America: 1. Sao Paulo 2. River Plate 3. Cruzeiro 4. Santos 5. Boca Juniors 6. Cienciano 7. Deportivo Cali 8. Penarol 9. Independiente 10. Bolivar Peru y tu?
I only concurr with sao Pablo on top! the rest is too early to tell....does any one (press) produces a latinamerican ranking of clubs month to month?
I agree, it's too early to say what the best teams are, that's why I didn't post my top10. I'm going to way 1-2 weeks.
How about Liga Deportiva Universitaria (Ecuador)? They won the Ecuadorian league last season and are the leaders so far this season. They beat Sao Paulo 3-0 in Quito and played a very competitive game in Brazil. Not saying they are a definite top 10, but definitely worthy of consideration.
When did Boca lose to Velez 3-0? It certainly didn't happen this year in the Clausura. They tied 3-3. I think the reigning Argentine, Libertadores and Intercontinental Champions are back on top. This was an awesome week for Boca Juniors: Sunday March 21: Boca 4 Racing 1 Wednesday March 24: Boca 3 Deportivo Cali 0 Saturday March 27: Boca 3 Lanus 0 It doesn't get much better than that.
in march: #1 Boca #2 sao Paulo #3 LDUQ #4 River #5....... once caldas (invicto en copa lib...y lideres torneo local Dept cali drops from top 10!
Mi borrador: 1. Santos 2. Boca Juniors 3. Sao Paulo 4. River Plate 5. LDU 6. Sporting Crystal 7. Santos (Mex) 8. Once Caldas 9. America (Mex) 10. Nacional (Uru)
at least #10 for once caldas, leader de grp en copa y torneo local, as well as LDUQ. No se de sporting cristal? are they doing good in peruvian liga?
cristal are 7th with one game in hand they are the highest scoring team in libertadores(i think) with 13 goals in 5 goals they have 10 points so far and are leading their group
mi top ten 1. boca juniors 2. cruzeiro (campeon de la copa 04) 3. river plate 4. america ( mex) 5. san pablo 6. santos 7. santos(mex) 8. LDUQ 9. nacional(uru) 10. pumas (mex)
1. Boca Juniors 2. Santos (Bra) 3. Sao Paulo 4. River Plate 5. Cruzeiro 6. America 7. LDU 8. Sporting Crystal 9. Nacional(Uru) 10. Dep. Tachira 1st. Boca-Actual World Champion, doing good in Libertadores in a somewhat tough team. 1st in local league (8-2-0). 5th Cruzeiro- Haven't convinced me. Had a hard time beating CaracasFC in Brazil and in Venezuela, tied to Santos(Mex) in Brazil and lost in Mexico. 6th America- 5th in their local league (5-5-5) 10th Dep. Tachira - 1 of the 4 undefeated teams. 1 of the 5 teams that allowed the least goals (4 goals). RiverPlate couldn't beat them at home or away. Not on my the list: Santos(Mex)- Couldn't beat at home or away the 2nd worse team in CL2004. 13th in their league (5-3-7) Once Caldas- Got the easiest group in Copa Libertadores.
Liga Deportiva Alajuelense (LDA), and Saprissa, are in the final for the CONCACAF Champions League. They won the series against Monterrey & Chi Fire (respectively). That should account for something, or at least by the time there is a winner.
Are we rating the ten worst teams in the Americas Seriously, those two teams don't stand a chance against no team in the Libertadores, well maybe against Concepcion. Given the performance in the first stage of Libertadores and the local tournaments, here is my top ten list: 1. Boca (Slow start, but they're still the team to beat) 2. Santos (Brasil) 3. Sao Paulo 4. Cruzeiro 5. America (Mexico) 6. Once Caldas 7. Liga Deportiva Universitaria 8. Nacional (Uruguay) 9. River Plate 10. Deportivo Tachira 450 Liga Deportiva Alajualense 498 Saprissa
