VAR To Consider Penis Offside For 2021/2022 Season https://socceronsunday.com/article/...bfmg7aThOBDWsdNdXpVy-M8uzOWcgoWyBOUfrXoErVHvM
In light of the new approach to VAR offsides, club medicals for transferring players will, where necessary, include mandatory circumcisions.
I just repped this - but I also want to state that it is the truest, absolute best post on this subject that I can fathom. I could have written 5,000 words (Sam and Burnign24/7 will attest) and not nailed it as well. Simple problem is this: Some fans care about the feel and meaning of the sport from the perspective of why it is being watched and followed. And this is their imperative. And some others care above all about what can be framed into readable exact law as if it were just as important. IMO one type of these two human types is living a sad b@stard type of existence..... This is a game. Exactitude beyond the human eye is NOT necessary.
To WingTips: re- this- "And I'll "chime in" whenever the ******** I please." He will too ... (chime in - like a dud clock just outside the Swiss Border) What he won;t do (psychological problems don;t permit him to) is admit when he is told he got the meaning of a word wrong in a chimed in argument that didn't even effin' need to be had except for his inability to shut up and lose one about the meaning in the first place.
So far this season, no Prem team has had more VAR decisions go against them than us. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...season-five-decisions-going-against-them.html
the news ahead of the LC game just keeps getting better ..... https://www.thisisanfield.com/2020/...te-returns-to-var-for-liverpool-vs-leicester/ A month after his disastrous performance as VAR for the Merseyside derby, David Coote has been named in the role for Liverpool’s clash with Leicester on Sunday. Coote was roundly criticised for his lack of awareness in the 2-2 draw at Goodison Park in October, namely having overlooked a season-ending challenge from Jordan Pickford on Virgil van Dijk. Not only did Coote ignore the tackle from Pickford, instead only focusing on a marginal offside in the buildup to the collision, but he also came under scrutiny for ruling out a late winner for Jordan Henderson. Liverpool requested a Premier League investigation into the use of the technology in the derby as a result, and the official was removed from referee and VAR duties for the following weekend’s fixtures. Back as a referee the weekend after, Coote was then back at Stockley Park for the next round of games, with the concerns from the Merseyside derby largely falling on deaf ears.
Interesting to hear the conversation ....... UEFA release audio of referee decision in Champions League Final https://www.spurs-web.com/spurs-news/some-spurs-fans-react-as-uefa-release-audio-of-referee-decision-in-champions-league-final/
Geez. It’s a lot like trump refusing to concede the election. Now over a year later Spurs want to take their loss to the VAR courts. Wonder if they can get Giuliani to represent them.
Penalty taken away in BHA match... Oliver used monitor to reverse his own pen decision. A lot of people saying this is a super obvious pen, I think it could go either way and the player making such a meal of it does himself no favors upon close analysis of the play. Notably this is the kind of decision which up to now has just not really been reversed, so I wonder how anti-VAR people might feel about it.
Handball goal taken away by VAR in City-Spurs match as well. Would have leveled the score. It looks like the right call to me. Always going to be somewhat subjective with regard to where the line is on the arm. This looked like pretty clear arm control to me.
Still think the t-shirt line was a terrible change. Can't see any benefit whatsoever. If anything, it is harder to call and encourages some use of the arm.
I thought it was not a pen and was pleased that Oliver actually checked the monitor and that the correct decision was made. I think that is VAR working properly with the on field ref (not the guy in the video room) actually deciding the call.
I'm all for monitor-use. It's the best system. Under the current rules, perhaps unfortunately, it just doesn't apply to offside calls. That would be another fairly easy change... just treat offside calls like a penalty call and make the ref go to monitor every time and say it's just a judgement call. That could solve a lot of the toenail offside bullshit. Overall I think the change is positive for 2 reasons, it eliminates armpit offside calls & I don't mind a fairly hard definition of what handball actually is mechanically, which has never before a couple years ago existed in the rules. However, I see where you're coming from. There are times/incidents where it's really annoying that this is the line, especially since it's pretty obvious by the Mane disallowed goal and the Bamford disallowed goal that an upper arm offside isn't really any more satisfying than an armpit offside.
I thought it wasn’t a pen either. Player got the ball and good bit of it - may have touched the attacker - who then proceeded to die.
