Where is confirmation of Jermaine Jones' international switch?? Does the delay mean something is wrong?

The date is confirmed august 2nd, because Bobby Zamora and Arturo Alvarez have both successfully switched nationalities.

Could the absurdly slow rate we citizens actually receive passports affect him? (so we wouldn't see him until January)

It'd be nice to see him get an appearance in these next round of qualifiers.

He is hurt. What is there to confirm? He can't play for anyone right now.

The point is that we haven't received confirmation from FIFA that his paperwork etc. was approved.

I thought that we would hear that sooner than later, and soon also Edgar Castillo.

Zamora and T&T's other English imports were injured for this qualifier, and Alvarez didn't play either, but FIFA approved their switches quickly.

I'm pretty sure Jones is approved and already been done? There's absolutely no reason to believe there is any problem.

He was supposed to be able to play in the second club game for Shalke at least that was the latest news I've heard.

Any Shalke follower who wants to chyme in with any health updates?

Wouldn't there be a press release of some kind? I mean, it was big news when he declared interest, so why wouldn't it be when he makes his "one time only" switch?

Not sure why neither Jones nor Castillo have actually been confirmed yet, but there don't seem to be any problems at all:

Gulati mentioned the other day that Jones would be ready by October if nothing else, and Castillo gave this interview to YA where he didn't mention any problems: http://yanks-abroad.com/get.php?mode=content&id=5052

Don't they have to take a loyalty oath and spit on a Mexican flag first?

According to Grant Wahl's article in SI, Jermaine Jones is recovering from a hairline fracture in his shin, and is waiting for the paperwork to clear. Both this medical and paperwork issue should be resolved by the time of our two October qualifying matches.
