Given that this comes up every few years I'll go with my favorites from the past.
    The Marrion Barry Crack House.
    The Bruce Arena Arena.

With suggestions like this, I can only deduce that your screenname is ironic.

I'm not too enthusiastic about the proposed site.
South Capital Street, where the baseball stadium might be built, would be better.

Yeah, a Spanish name for a stadium in our nation's capital. That'll fly...

New Trafford was a joke but what's wrong with Capital Park?

It's rather bland, isn't it? It's like, "Oh, we're the nation's capital. I get it," instead of something that has a sense of dynamic to it, like Poplar Point. It's kind of like those generic t-shirts I see people wearing at United games that just say "England" across the front.

Continuing the theme from the playoffs, how about The Black Hole?

I believe the existing road near this area is Martin Luther King Blvd, so good luck there with any name change (unless there's a road added that leads into the stadium area). I agree that having Frederick Douglass' name appear is not only a good PR move but honors someone who was a great American. The building itself will probably be Corp X Stadium but it would be nice if the surrounding area was FD Park.

I believe the Douglas Museum people would want that Temporary Museum in United Park to be deemed a National Monument (ergo, No Alcoholic Consumption on the Premises) would hamper tailgating. However, if the Douglas' Museum and Stadium were just a City Run Museum then...thing would be much different.

    Shouldn't it be Capitol Park?

You don't have to worry about the Stadium being under those regulations. The businesses building it will make sure that doesn't happen. Also, the site will likely include stores and restaurants, maybe housing and offices. I understand that the Stadium is just one component of a larger development plan for the area.

The Capitol is the building itself, so Capital is the proper spelling.

I think DCU should partner with a local business in SE for sponsorship...

Alabama Avenue Crew Stadium, Barry Farms Crew Field, Naylor Road Crew, Hothead Boys (Dema's favorite).

Apparently the local guys are so efficient that they have managed to keep out the Bloods and Crips ie. the Wal-Mart and Target of gangs.

Interesting fact: There have been nearly twice as many gangs identified in D.C. as in all of California! But you have to hand it to Wisconsin(!) for creative names (Maniac Latin Disciples, Conservative Vice Lords - militant wing of the GOP I guess. Oh wait the GOP already is militant)
