i did recall seeing that he can slot in to the centreback position. i wonder if that wouldn't be a better place for him to slot in if we retain this formation (as i hope we do).
selfishly, i would rather see sanchez to bayern and keep ozil. for ozil's sake, i would agree with you.
They could actually use both Sanchez would be a direct replacement for clapped out Ribery But for Germany's sake I would like to unite Ozil with Mueller
Rumors this morning that Bellerin has agreed to terms with Barca. In the last week I have heard price tag of 50 mil GBP and a rumored player + cash deal that would give us one of Denis Suarez, Rafinha or Turan.
Dunno. Multiple reports are that he has agreed to terms with Barca. No reports that Arsenal has agreed but either those reports are completely BS, entirely possible, or we are willing to move him.
I'm not that surprised to see the Bellerin stories pop up. I never bought his "I want to stay at Arsenal" act. It is an easy thing to say when Barca are only taking a cursory look at you, but the minute they got serious, it was clear he would leave. He probably didn't expect them to come calling soon. My only concern with selling Bellerin is the loss of another home grown player, which forces us to keep our subpar home grown players.
Realistically only one could come in I think Sanchez is an ideal swap for Ribery But i'd prefer from a Germany NT perspective if Ozil went
Well how do Bayern play right now? The issue is Ribery is done and they seemed to lack the ability to create goals again in the CL despite having 3 excellent goal scorers in Mueller, Lewy and Robben Of course this is all good enough the Buli but I think they have quietly declined for some years now. It's not clear he had much of a choice. Bale, Isco and Illarramendi all came in so they needed to generate cashflow. Same thing happened the next year when he was forced to sell Di Maria My point is not whether he should have sold Ozil - just I don't think we should assume he doesn't want him
Yeah. This seems far fetched. But if it's true I'd say it might depress me more than were Ozil to leave. Even if this season there was some injury/regression, Hector seems to have so so much upside potential.
AW now saying that he intends for Nacho to primarily contribute as a LCB and possibly be a starter there.
Exactly. I haven't been blown away by Hector this season but he would be difficult to replace for less than, say, 20m. If he's gone to Barca, we'd need an immediate, non-Debuchy, replacement.
Ospina with a howler today against Spain. Not exactly making a strong case to be our #1... or any major club's #1???
