Multiple mass shootings in Lewiston, ME. Total death toll is as yet unknown, but some reports are saying >20 dead and >50 injured.

 

I knew we were screwed when nothing would be done after Sandy Hook.

I just hope this wasn't motivated by recent events.

 

Police have issued a photograph of their suspect in action as he bravely stood up for his Second Amendment rights in a bowling alley.

 

Appropriate timing, given that the House just elected a trog Speaker who, of course, votes down every gun-control bill. We have the country that our voters want.

You know what might help? Making it so crazy people can't get firearms. Or enforcing the red/yellow flag laws currently on the books. Or making it so firearms are treated like how this individual dealt with military-provided firearms. Tracked, registered, locked in the armory except when in use, can't take them home. Like a militia or something.

It just makes you sad. The pointless loss of life and knowledge that nothing will change no amount of dead innocent people will wake people up. I not only put this on the politician that are in the back pocket of the NRA but the people who claim to care about this until they hear something about a man wearing a dress and then no let's select the same people again.

 

Wow! A whole two weeks!!

 

We did have a really good law on People with Mental Health Issues not being able to access assault weapons.
But the smartest man in the stable made it his job to repeal that law when first becoming prez.

I knew we were doomed when the GOP wouldn't even restrict firearm sales to people on the terrorist watch list.

I mean, we were ALL IN on restricting the rights of people with Muslim-sounding names to travel on airplanes, get jobs, that sort of thing. But the idea of not letting people suspected of being terrorists from buying guns and shooting a bunch of Americans was just too unconstitutional.
