We know that New York Red Bulls @ FC Dallas is on FSC Wednesday, but is Thursday's game going to get televised? I know it's not on the national channels, but I'm not even seeing it on the Direct Kick channels right now. Anybody know?
That sucks. Well at least i will be able to watch the game on Matchday Live. I would have been pissed if it was on FSC (only have basic cable at the moment). So glad NBC is picking up MLS. I get Versus/NBCSN on basic which is nice.
MLSnet.com is also saying it'll be on Direct Kick, but still not seeing it on the television guide. I can't recall if Direct Kick showed post-season games in years past. Just have to tune in at 10 pm I guess.
Is there any definite confirmation that it will be on Match Day Live? Because on the MLS Extratime Podcast they said "Direct Kick" but didn't mention Match Day Live. I could just be reading too much into that- the general consensus seems to be that it will be on MDL. Were any of the playoff games on Match Day Live last year?
Yes, I saw this on the website. Free stream, so I can't complain. Never watched a game on a computer, but also haven't missed a playoff game in about five years. It's better then nothing.
I have DirecTV and it showed on my guide. I set the game to record, but we shall see. I've had Direct Kick for a number of years; my recollection is the playoff games not on national TV are included.
Yes, we all realize that. We are discussing Thursday's game (CLB@COL) in this thread. The original post of this thread:
It is on my guide for tomorrow too now. Just took them awhile to get it there. Glad I can watch it on a TV and not a computer.
If I adjust my rabbit ears enough, the definition becomes higher... is that what you guys are talking about?
It sucks. Its kind of a reminder what shitty TV coverage MLS gets. Hopefully the Versus thing fixes this. I was hoping FSC or ESPN would get all the playoffs. Watching from a computer screen is a poor option. I just look forward to the day when you can easily link a live stream (with no lag or choppiness) to a TV.
It's pretty simple to hook your monitor up to the tv. But I agree it's sometimes annoying watching on a computer.
Kind of night that should keep people realistic about where this league is: a playoff game that hardly anyone can see being played in front of a whole bunch of empty seats.
To be fair, it was 32 degrees when the started. Hard to get casual fans to show up in that weather. The MLS definitely has a lot of improvements to be made, but I feel like tremendous strides were made this year and will continue.
I certainly agree that strides are being made! However, I have to scratch my head at a league that is always telling us that the season can't start before late March due to the weather...but allows what are meant to be the most important games of all to be played in conditions like last night! Also, if the play-in match is meant to add SO much excitement to what some already consider a bloated playoff format, why should we have to depend on casual fans to fill the seats?
I bet that if this was a regular season game, the attendance would have been cut in half. More people will tolerate crappy weather for the playoffs cause already a full season invested.
