Years ago the national curling championships were held here in the Philly area at a place called Iceworks. I'm still kicking myself for not going. I didn't even have the "it was too far" excuse cause I could walk there in around 10 minutes.
The first or second year we were in Denver, unknown to us, the Olympic Trials were held up the 36 in Broomfield. We still kick ourselves for not knowing about it and missing it. But hey, we're just over week from the Tournament of Hearts starting on ESPN3.
Ok, ok, my turn... About 30 years ago while visiting Hawaii for our honeymoon, we stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. It wasn't until the very last night that we found out, unbeknownst to us, the hotel was having a nightly outdoor cook-out with all-you-can-eat prime rib, free for their guests!! *sigh* I'm still kicking myself for not knowing about it and having missed out on those previous four nights!
Alright, I'm dating myself but during high school in Tallahassee, Florida, the J Giels Band played a concert and the opening act was some band from Ireland. I turned down free tickets and later learned that the opening act was amazing and that they'd turned up afterwards at an all-ages club and thanked everyone who'd been at the concert. The band of course was U2 and this was right as the album War came out.
Well now......guess there's one less thing for the conspiracy theorists.... https://www.yahoo.com/sports/jay-berhalter-stepping-away-u-003243404.html
