Postgame analysis of the loss to Antigua: "The Los Angeles players and staff were left scratching their heads following Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Antigua Barracuda FC in the team’s first ever home game. With forwards Cesar Rivera and Chukwudi Chijindu already missing from the starting lineup due to a red-card suspension and a lingering injury, respectively, star playmaker Walter Gaitán injured his quadriceps in the pregame warm-up and became another late scratch from the Blues attack. Charlie Naimo’s men still dominated possession but failed to capitalize on their numerous scoring chances..." More: http://www.labluesprosoccer.com/home/523419.html Gaitán talks about the loss and looks ahead to the game against Charlotte: "'Everybody is extremely upset about the loss – the fans, the coaches, and the players,' Gaitán said through a translator. 'We played well and did everything we had been working on leading up to the match. We really just failed to finish. That’s what happens in soccer. If you miss a lot of opportunities, you usually end up getting punished.'..." Thoughts: wish it was in Orange County PS: Also wish Saturday's match wasn't scheduled at the same time as LAG v SKC.
The reasoning is that more people will be given the chance to see the Blues play if we host some of our games in Corona, especially when it's 2 games in the span of 3 days as in this case. Conflicts with the Galaxy and Chivas have been avoided wherever possible, but sometimes there are factors that are outside of a club's control.
That would be a good, solid comeback from the loss to Antigua. Will you guys be there for the Corona games too? Any more predictions?
O153 will be there in some capacity at the corona games. The 6pm kickoff made it so most of the group couldn't get there. Pretty much impossible to make it to Corona by 6pm after work on a weekday. Only reason a few people are making it is because they managed to get off work early.
Yeah, we're not happy about the change. Be sure to follow on USL Live. Looking forward to seeing you at Titan Saturday!
We knew going in that USL Live might be a problem for this particular venue, but we were hoping to make it happen anyway. Shouldn't have mentioned it here. Honest mistake, sorry about that! We did do play by play and the full match will be available archived soon. Saturday's game in Fullerton will again be live.
Nice win for the boys especially getting a late goal to secure the three points. I see they have us in a new bracket and while that looks fine how do you think having a month where they dont play a game will affect the boys?
Absolutely, there is no substitute for match fitness. They should look to schedule some friendlies against LA and Chivas' reserve squads.
Has the full Revised schedule been released yet? I doubt we will end up having a whole month off. We still need to play 24 games in the season. And does any one know when the US Open CUP starts for USL???
