I think his knee has done him in and he will have reoccurring injuries next season. He is indeed classy, barring his injury. Bring back Senderos and buy someone else.

If we are able to keep everyone (RVP, Walcott, Rosicky - if he will indeed be making a comeback) - I would say just buy a top class partner for Cesc

he has the same injury Cesc had in December...

its a 3 month injury if not for the season being over...

he will have the preseason to train and get back into match fitness

All we need to do this summer is keep the team together. We may need to buy a new CB pending Gallas's fitness. But honestly, if we keep this bunch together, they will be a tour de force next season, no doubt.

considering how well gallas was playing before he got injured, i think he is definitely in the plans for next year. if we can keep this squad, plus add one CB who can step in right away (whether it be recalling senderos or not), and then add one young CB and another younger CM, we will be back on top of the league.

our midfield/attacking options are ridicuous with everyone healthy: ade, rvp, dudu, bendtner, vela, walcott, arshavin, nasri, rosicky, cesc, denilson, song, diaby, eboue. hell, maybe even some JFW appearances. we just need a little more depth defensively to protect against an injury spell like the one we have now.

would you not agree that Kolo has been magnificent since Wenger gave him a talking to in December/January?

so with Kolo looking like his usual self, you still want a new CB to replace him?

gallas and kolo have both been better

still would prefer a dominant bigman with either tbh, preferably gallas, alas he is bosted for the rest of the season

I dont want anyone to leave, which is what ive said all along

Kolo has looked a lot better the last few weeks (not since Dec/Jan)... but we still need another CB more than anything else on this team, imo

gallas and toure are ok together or djourou with either

we need a better ball winner in the middle to go next level

You guys are sometimes ridiculously hard on Senderos. He's made some gaffes, no doubt. That said, I'd love to have him in the squad right now, especially with Gallas and Djourou out of commission. I don't think he's a bit less effective than Silvestre.

Of course, it's only 38 with the wind-chill factor.

If you bring in another CB, what happens to Djourou?

Hes played well enough to deserve a shot at the first team.

    Kolo/Djourou/Senderos/Silvestre/Gallas

Maybe Gallas leaves, maybe Senderos leaves? The only way we need a CB is if both go, which I doubt.

Would you be willing to undermine Djourou's progress?

    Senderos aint coming back, lol

Silvestre is a utlity player who is more comfortable at fullback..

we really only have 3 now... Gallas, Johan, and Kolo

and I dont think we are undermining Djourou's progress at all... we are going to play nearly 50 matches a season... everyone will get games, especially considering how injury plagued we usually are...

I even tip him to start next season

Wow, I go away from the boards for a while and come back to read someone pining for the return of the Swiss Miss?

Senderos is good riddance, IMO. Never to be seen again.

I'd take Djourou over him 365 days a year.

Hes played the majority of his games this season at CB and has done a decent job. We have Traore coming back next season and we have Gibbs. If Silvestre is here next season, he'll be here as a CB, not a fullback.

I'm not the biggest fan of Gallas, but I'm willing to see him start with Toure for another season, though I would hope that Djourou steps up and takes it from Gallas. Regardless of how that trio works out, I don't believe we need another CB.

i think gallas will be here next year. senderos, probably not. how long is senderos' loan deal? i'd love to bring him back after 2-3 years.

i still think we should get another young CB. djourou would keep his spot at as 3rd CB, but we should start to develop another defender to eventually replace gallas/toure.
