    1) Well, of course I miss the cheap ticket prices.

    2) I miss the generally lax security, and sneaking in all sorts of "banned" items, such as food, alcohol, etc. Hell, I used to bring in cans of beer, bottles of hard liquor, used needles, all sorts of $hit. Never did get an umbrella in there, though. This year, they won't even let me in with a backpack, even though it only has a blanket, jacket, and other non-explosives. Of course, some jerk in front of me has a backpack, and HE got to stroll by, so why not ME? "He has a baby with him, it's kinda like a baby-bag." That's it, dammit. I need to borrow somebody's baby.

    3) I miss the pre and post-game bacon wrapped hot dog vendors. My immune system isn't challenged like it used to be.

    4) I really miss King Taco. HDC food is so fudging bland, and I can't believe it costs more than the Rose Bowl. The salsa is like that Old El Paso crap, the chunky stuff that's been in a jar since Bill Clinton was getting blown under his desk. Also, the HDC vending staff is exceptionally slow and non-academic to the extreme. If dymanite were brains, they wouldn't have enough to blow their fvcking nose.

    5) I miss the warm beer that was only $5/cup.

    6) Speaking of warm liquids, I miss the halftime restroom chaos, and opportunistic libertarian gents who, out of sheer selflessness, (they were doing it to keep the lines outside from getting too long) cheerfully relieved themselves in the corner. In HDC, such devotion to your fellow fans will get you arrested, and possibly even deported.

    7) I miss the tailgating, especially, and getting $hit-faced in the parking lot for $4, as opposed to spending $25 in HDC to get equally $hit-faced. And believe me, with the way the G's have played this year, alcohol is a necessity and you gotta wonder if it's all just Doug Hamilton's strategy to sell more alcohol in HDC.

    8) Finally, the G's played much better when the Rose Bowl was their home. :D

PS: Just kidding about the "used needles" part.

I miss that it would take me 10 minutes to get to the RB from my house, 5 from Old Town if I was meeting friends there before the match. It takes me better than half an hour to get there now...and the traffic in and out of the HDC is much worse than the RB would be (except for 7-4)

Tell me about it. My lady lives in Pasadena.

I'm still pissed that they put it in Carson. Don't get me started.

crazy, every last one of you. I love DHC. I go for soccer, and what better place in the states to see a game? We got it good people, we got it real good. I must confess, I do miss those bacon wrapped dogs though.

I miss sitting on that one side of the stadium (not sure which direction it would be though I suppose, come to think of it, it was the Eastern side) and around the start of a game the sun would be setting behind the mountains and the sky was all orangey-blue and red and purple and it was beautiful and created an astonishing glow through which to watch a soccer match.

At least that's what my girlfriend misses...or so she tells me every time we go to the HDC (which she also loves!). :)

You do realize that those "Tijuana hot dog" vendors can be found in the East side parking lots after the game, right?

I've had those dogs several times this season. Good stuff, Maynard. Mmm...I just made myself hungry.

    Don't get me wrong folks, I L O V E Victoria Street passionately.

But they just gotta change the ban on tailgating, and let the hot dog vendors back in the parking lot. I miss those grilled onions n peppers.

PS: Can someone tell me what it's like to sit in the Stadium Club during a game? It seems kinda over-sanitized to me, and I don't think that they'd appreciate me throwing my confetti - - some of it might fall into their filet mignon.

Nevertheless, I'd like to try it just once. My lady might be impressed.

Where? I'm dieing for one (actually eating them will kill me but what a way to go) :)

ACtually, a few weeks ago I saw a cart and headed over to buy one...only to discover the reason he didn't have a crowd of buyers around him was because he was being escorted somewhere by the cops. :(

Bing-freaking-O. I get around this by eating before the game, but I still feel that ending my pre-game ritual of three carne asada tacos is what has ailed the Glas this year. Spot on about the service at the Vick, too. It can be worse than a movie theater.

I'm not sure, but weren't those Buds at the RB only 12 oz.? If so, then a 24 0z. Corona for $10 ends up being just as good a deal, and it's neither warm nor flat.

I was going to say, a captain of industry such as your self should be able to afford clean needles...

Tough titties, north-of-LAX boys. You had it nice for seven years. It's time for the real SoCal to have something conveniently located for once.

I usually see the vendor in Parking Lot E, in the southern part. I have not been to a game at the HDC since the Chicago game but after the handful of games I have been to (5-game pack ticket holder plus All-star game), the vendor has been there.

    Wasn't LAX enough? :p

And what the hell is the LBC or LBZ or whatever the hell you call it?

Personally, I think they should have put the stadium closer to the 909. Like in my back yard. Remember when the freeway was something you went on to get someplace quickly? In the I.E., we still do. Eric, please don't respond to this, because even though we ordered the exact same thing at King Taco, you are nothing but my little bitch in south LA.

    Thank you,

    Me too.

A few weeks ago I saw a cart and headed over to buy one...only to discover that they were all sold out. I didn't want to wait around for the next batch to cook. Demand was high supply was low. We need more vendors!

I miss the area outside the stadium and the tailgating and the 10 min. drive and the fact that if you got there early you could park for free by the golf course..:)
Still though, Victoria Street is a better venue for soccer so I'm not complaining..

I miss tailgating, bacon-wrapped dogs (only got them once at HDC) and being able to walk up and buy an affordable ticket.

I miss being able to get a good seat for an affordable price. I came away from opening day at HDC thinking the Galaxy have died as far as I was concerned. They're gonna price themselves out of the market. Is Anschutz trying to recoup all the money he spent on the new stadium in one year?

I miss being five minutes from the stadium and being able to go without any advance planning. I miss seeing people in the stands selling those cheesy blue and white headbands with "Guatemala" or "El Salvador" on them. I miss being back inside my house, after attending a weeknight game, by 10 pm!

Lame as this sounds: I miss that stupid Braveheart video they used to show at the Rose Bowl.....

I hated it at the time, but it was miles better than that UFO thing the show now.

Looks like there will be plenty of stuff to write down when the "Town Hall" meeting takes place on Nov. 1st.

    I also miss Twizzle.

Never thought I'd say that, but he was far better than that idiot Space Dork that they have now.
