🤩 Three minutes of Thiago brilliance.The man is Anfield bound. A bargain.@AnfieldWatch | @AnythingLFC_ pic.twitter.com/QItylgadNB— The Sportsman (@TheSportsman) September 17, 2020
Great news to wake up to Thiago is finally coming to Anfield. I can't wait to see how this addition impacts the midfield or even our formation. Do we switch to a 4231 with Thiago/Fab holding? Definitely gives Klopp options . Joyce says Thiago will wear #6.

the Independent: The initial fee for Thiago is just £1 million less than what Liverpool reportedly sold Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth for last summer. Which means this is an incredible deal for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.
Here's a great post from one of the posters on RAWK who is also a great article writer: This transfer works on several levels for Liverpool. As a number of posters have pointed out it's probably the first time since Alonso left that we'll be able to field a player who is truly elite as a controller of the tempo of the game. You press this lad at your peril because that's what he wants you to do. His first thought when pressed, is to get the ball, or even himself and the ball, into the space you've just emptied. That immediately puts the whole team on the front foot and brings our most potent offensive players into the game. But it's kind of madness to stand off him too because Thiago has an Alonso-like laser-guided missile of a pass. The two Bayern full backs were very effective in the Champions League this year largely because Thiago was able to consistently find them in space with wonderfully weighted balls. Consequently, it's not just our front three who will benefit, but our own two prolific full backs. It also works for Liverpool because we are grafting a serial winner on to a team that is hoping to become serial winners themselves. Is it possible for self-belief to increase at Melwood? Probably there are a mere handful of things you could do to inflate it further. Acquiring Thiago is surely one of them. Liverpool already enter each game they play with a confidence they will win. Having Thiago in the team, as weird as it sounds, might actually boost that confidence further. And finally it works on a symbolic level. Presumably Thiago could choose practically any club in the world at the moment. The fact that he chose us means Liverpool are truly now on Mount Olympus. I have one slight fear - and that is that Wijnaldum will be permitted/encouraged to leave. That would be a serious mistake in my view since his energy and fight and ability to make life hell for opponents would be sorely missed, even with Thiago in the team. And Gini too, at 29, is at the height of his game.
Glad we can stop speculating about it and hope that he's half as good as everyone thinks he is. Midfield is stacked, so competition should be fierce. Add in injuries and we should be comfortable with the amount we have.

LOL. I was up and one the road early today. I really wish we were able to make the trip across the pond to see the champions in the flesh.
good to hear .... Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been all smiles at his news conference before the expected arrival of Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara, 29, in a +£20m deal. "There is nothing really to say. It's not official until it is announced. It looks quite promising," he laughed. Klopp said his "hands are tied" about what he could say. The move is expected to be completed later on Friday. "If it happens, it has no impact on anybody's future in a negative way. Somebody has to leave if somebody comes in - no," added Klopp.

Thiago Alcantara arrives at Liverpool's Melwood training ground to complete £25m move to the Premier League champions after bidding emotional goodbye to Bayern Munich https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...elwood-training-ground-complete-25m-move.html
Just an observation and I'm not really sure what to read into it but during this Thiago saga , especially early on all the reports linking Lpool with him seemed to come from European sources such as Bild. The normally reliable English reporters kept to the story line that "currently Lpool have no interest in Thiago". So were they out of the loop or keeping mum the whole while? I dunno but I feel perhaps the club no longer feeds these domestic reporters with inside info on transfers so now as in this case the real info comes from sources outside of the club.
The moment you’ve all been waiting for…#ThiagoFriday 🤩 pic.twitter.com/s2tOCvnHta— Liverpool FC (@LFC) September 18, 2020 This brought a HUGE smile to my face. #ThiagoFriday
“It all started with a phone call in June. Thiago Alcantara was close to penning a lucrative new four-year contract with Bayern Munich worth around £12 million per year (£230,000 per week) when his head was turned. The Spain international was informed that Jurgen Klopp wanted him at Liverpool. A friend of Thiago’s family told The Athletic: “Earlier this year, it seemed certain that he was going to extend his contract with Bayern Munich but then Liverpool’s interest escalated and this suddenly changed everything.” from the Athletic (which is cheap as hell to subscribe to right now like 1 dollar a month). man - the draw of Klopp cannot be underestimated.
for the past few weeks it's been like watching Hendo doing his stutter-step dance, building up to a big YESSSSSSS!!!!!
according to this his salary is 200k which puts him on par with Salah. https://www.thisisanfield.com/2020/...rt-number-contract-length-and-wages-revealed/
Bayern is a “********” of a club when it comes to how if raids its competitors in the Buli but I’ve always been struck by how classy its fans, the ones I’ve met, are. This is good from the club, too. Thiago is only the second outfield player we've brought in, who was over the age of 26 when signed, since Klopp became manager
