There's no place like home [in-game R in the making] Mia! 59th minute at RFK; 1-1. Charge 20 minutes from a home semifinal... Paul
Re: There's no place like home [in-game R in the making] That's right! A tie in today's match clinches second place for the Charge and I believe it also drops the Courage's magic number for a home semifinal match down to 2.
Less than 7 minutes to go!! The last update I saw on the WUSA matchtracker was 2-2 in the 84th minute.
DONE DEAL!!! The Philadelphia Charge clinched a minimum of second place moments ago as Washington defeated Atlanta 3-2 on a stoppage time (as in 92nd minute) goal by Pu Wei. The Charge will host one of the two WUSA semifinal games August 17th at Villanova Stadium, time to be determined - will either be 1:30 or 4PM EDT. The Freedom win means Carolina has to split its two games with NY and San Diego to clinch the other semifinal. WOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look at Pichon, though...she was absolutely stir-crazy during the rain delay (re-watch the tape of the game 30 minutes in and you'll know what I'm talking about) Schillig in goal Wednesday! Paul
The past may foretell the future... I did some research, and of the past seven times a Philadelphia pro team went to the final round of its respective sport, five of the 7 wins came at home ('01 Sixers, '97 Flyers, '93 Phillies, '83 Phillies and '80 Eagles). The '87 Flyers and '83 Sixers clinched their conference championships on the road. Of course, the last 6 times a local team has been in a win-or-else championship final, the other guys won. Paul
Who cares about anything else other than the Charge, Charge!! Is there any correlation between what they do and what any other team does? These are mutually independent events, and you're setting yourself up for more disappointment if the best outcome doesn't occur.
