Bollocks. I hope your an Englishman residing in the states to say such things with certainty... Liverpool is a worse city than Manchester on every level...when's the last time a teenager was mudered by axe handle for walking his girlfriend home in Manchester? You get rough types in every city..Manchester is no different, but the underbelly of Liverpool is one of the worst in the entire UK..in fact only London and Glasgow are worse.
Are you telling me not to visit Glasgow when I travel? Or Liverpool for that matter? This is a serious question btw.
I've got to back up 655321 here. First, you don't have a recent pennant collection from a CL Championship to steal. Second, having been to both cities there is not a dimes worth of difference between the vast preponderance of people that live in either city. Now, since most of the residents of Manchester support City, it is probably true that your season ticket holders from the Home Counties do look down their nose at Liverpuddlians. Sort of the way most of us in the States look down their nose at cow pokers from Dallas.
It's just like any other city, stay in the tourist areas and you're all good, go off the beaten path and you're fair game.. same as many places in the US or anywhere else for that matter. You won't accidently trip into bad areas, they quite a ways away from tourist zones.
