On a slightly more serious note -- Apparently Citeh have lodged a 10 million pound bid for Nery Castillo. The Castillo who was our trial candidate before permit issues, and who just lit up Copa America. This is exactly the kind of purchase I wanted us to make - not a Tevez, but a Quagliarella or Castillo. I'll be quite pissed off if these Citeh rumors are true.

 

I wouldn't think he was ready yet. But Fergie/scouts saw something in him back then, and if we sold of Smudge for 6 mill then this kid would cost chump change. He definitely isn't a starter now, but a year in either the reserves or spare minutes would be good.

Of course, let's see what the plans are for Rossi. I feel that once we get back from Asia, some things will be cleared up (regarding Rossi, Pique, etc.).

 

I'm going to agree and be "Vermont" for a second. While Nery Castillo is a good up and comer, we need someone who is ready to jump into our starting XI and contribute now. Tevez is that and some.

I would hate to see Nery in a City shirt, btw. At least its not Liverpool.
