So Barca drew Badajoz at home -a 3rd place team, so guess that's a pretty good draw. Match is on Thursday.

Sadly for Barca B's hopes, it seems to have been decided that Riqui Puig and Ansu Fati will stay with the first team, rest a bit, and prepare for Napoli. Unclear if Araujo will be available for Barca B, but seems tricky given that Lenglet is dealing with groin discomfort and Umtiti is injured. But wait, @youngcules says Araujo will join: OFFICIAL: Araujo joins Barça B to help them win promotion. Better than nothing! The defence didn’t look good yesterday.

Barca B is down a goal at half-time (now 52nd minute) in the playoff for promotion (they need to win today and once more to advance to Segunda).

Yup, not sure if it will matter but Badajoz just went to OT and PKs in their last match, so maybe they will tire? But their goalie has been on fire so could be tough if it gets to PKs.

Funny tweet in @youngcules: Barça B started preseason a year ago with Ansu-Abel-Perez and now plays the most important game of the season with a Juvenile winger and two flops of Italian football signed for just under 10M. Whoever does planning for Barça B needs to have his job revised.

But it was the parent club which sold Abel and Perez to raise money (not really left up to Barca B planner I fear), and Ansu of course broke through to the first team.

We're 2 for 2 (Akieme, then Araujo) and they missed first, made second, so 2-1, us up again. Now 3-1 (Cuenca), before they attempt their 3rd. Now 3-2, us up. Now 4-2 us. Manaj.

A goal or a save by us clinches for us.

Now 4-3 us up, score would win it.

5-3 we got one more game to play, win that and advance! Monchu.

All 3 Catalan clubs that entered these playoffs are still alive. (Cornella beat first place Atletico Baleares; Sabadell is playing Leonesa and leading 1-0)

Do we know who we play next? Or is it one of these new draw after each round things? Since we were the early match along with Cornella that would make the most sense, but I'm guessing re-draw, but truly clueless.

Sabadell did get through, 4th team Castellon. Remarkably Castellon won Barca B's own Segunda B - Group III with 50 points and Sabadell and Cornella all finished tied for 2nd with Barca B, with 49 points, Barca B took 2nd due to head to head (or goal differential), Sabadell 3rd, Cornella 4th. Remarkable that 2 of them will go through as it requires 3 straight wins, or a loss and 2 wins in Castellon's case.

Still not clear who we play next so feeling there will be a draw tomorrow as otherwise that info would be more clear.

4 teams finished within one point? Kinda fair that they go head to head to determine two promotion spots.

^. Turns out that Barca “drew” third place Sabadell and Catellon drew fourth place Cornella. Probably based on seeding, not an actual draw.

Yeah was wondering if they'd go by seeding. We won 1-0 this season at home, return leg cancelled. Last year we beat them 5-1 at home and 0-1 on the road.

Reminder, game is in 9 minutes, if Barca B win they will be in the real Segunda and don't have to think so much about loaning out top talent who are not quite ready to make the first team (or will mostly ride the pine if they do make it so not ideal). Instead they can play in a great Segunda league for their team and be called up here and there, I think it's a hugely good thing for La Masia as a whole.

Monchu scored and we are up 1-0 just before half time!

great save earlier by Inaki Pena, who might be MAtS back up next season if Neto is sold to (1) help with cash flow, (2) because Inaki is really good. I hope that rumors of MAtS knee issues don't mean that we keep Neto or sign another veteran if MAtS needs surgery and will miss 3 months or so after CL concludes.

Damn, 1-2 now for Sabadell, they've been very tough this second half.

Frick, Akieme scored but it is called back, offsides or a foul in the build up? Not following non-English broadcast.

Game over, another season in Segunda B.

Yeah, sucks. I hope Segunda B gets played as normal next season. AFAIK third tier divisions across Europe haven't played since mid-March apart from playoffs to determine promoted and relegated teams.

    3. Liga in Germany resumed play on the final weekend of May until its finish the first weekend of July.

Bayern Munich II won the league but the rules no longer allow "B" teams to play in the second division.
Würzburger Kickers and Eintracht Braunschweig gained promotion to the 2. Bundesliga.

Ingolstadt lost out on promotion after losing the Relegation playoff on away goals to Nürnberg who had finished third from bottom of the 2. Bundesliga.

Chemnitz, Preußen Münster, Sonnenhof Großaspach and Carl Zeiss Jena are all relegated to fourth tier regional leagues.

Wehen Wiesbaden and Dynamo Dresden were relegated from the 2. Bundesliga to the 3. Liga.

Nice to see La Masia at #2, but a shame that La Fabrica is #1. Clubs with the most academy products playing in the "top 5" leagues:
